Out on the wall sounds of banging is constant coming from your head
And desperate the calls came then ringing from those wanna who wring your neck
Your neck

Open your mouth sounds of breathing found it spilling from your face
Best to be dim to the humbling traffic stomping on your name

Count on us all falling on our own swords tonight

And chilling walk home down the portions of roads there leading straight to your place
And look like the tin can with swallows the kitchen plugging up your space

Count on us all stepping on our own toes tonight
Count on us all stepping on our own toes
Count on us all falling on our own swords tonight

idk, i think all their songs sound the same. and the lead vocals always drive me nuts.
Fantastic segue from Fight Test.
Hearing a lot of Death Cab here.  Had to check to see if Ben Gibbard was singing.
BOH is an amazing live band. I dare say they sound even better live than on their records. What a band!
Similar sound/style of Marcy Playground?
yeehaw!  the wife and i just saw band of horses in manhattan last week.  they played two full shows, an acoustic show at 7pm and a two hour electric show at 10pm.  over the course of the night they played every song they'd ever recorded - 4 albums' worth.  fantastic night.  ben & company really put on a great live show.  love me some b.o.h.  !!  {#Cowboy}

I really liked that AB song when it came out. Last time I checked, you couldn't get it on iTunes. Do the songs really sound the same? I once saw AB perform arouned '83 while visiting my girlfriend at Carnegie-Mellon (great school in a really great city). His drummer, if I remember rightly, was Elvis Presley's drummer at one point. The guy had an adoring throng surrounding him at an intermission as he told stories about The King. Adrian was a bit more reclusive, but he was great on stage. Everyone went nuts when he performed "Big Electric Cat."

Let's hear it for some Belew on RP. (Yes yes I know how to upload songs- just want to plug the old raconteur.) His most recent tour is solid rock with the bro-sis combo rhythm section. Tony and Pat aren't bad, either

This was the song, heard right here on RP, that got me turned onto and tuned into these guys.  The lyrics are clipped and cryptic, but far from insipid, they are actually poignant and insightful. I believe they refer to an inescapable, angst-filled environment (teenage rebellion, job, rock and roll lifestyle, jilted lover; could be any/ many of these) and a corresponding inability to rise above the self-sabotage, dishonor, and disgrace that is fully expected of them. On "Factory" from their newer release, the singer does a very good job of wry self-deprecation with wit and wordplay that invites, in me, far more sympathy than pity. Like reading dark and disturbingly realistic classic Russian literature -- love it!
Certainly a 7 for me now!  Earlier it was a 6.  sorry
Nice tune...dumb band name.

any ideas what this is all about?

With all due respect, Fleet Foxes sound like Band of Horses - this album proceeds FF by 2 years. . .
I think this echo-chamber sound is becoming a genre in its own right.

and hear them again and again and agian , , , , ,  they're not that good. . .
I really like these guys. They've been on my radar for at least a couple of years - good to hear them here.
Very nice! {#Music}

I thought it was the Shins at first too.  I'd add Fleet Foxes.  My Flaming Fox Shin Jacket?

A good friend just introduced me to this band this month...and I'm so glad! I just uploaded a really sweet ballad "No One's Gonna Love You Like I Do" and I hope it makes it to the playlist!

the vocal echo is why it sounds like My Morning Jacket and the Shins. The similarities really end there, though. This album is really good. The newer one is great!

Liked the first one a lot. If this one is better, it'll have to go on the purchse list.

good catch, still a good tune (both of them).

I enjoy this song. I just got the album, and it's pretty good throughout.

SNAP! yeah, those kids should stop being influenced by great albums and just reference everything they write from the sounds in their immediate environment, such as the faucet dripping. things like that.

I'm with rah, but throw in Flaming Lips. My Flaming Morning Shins. That doesn't detract from the value of the tune...it's quite good.
So I used to wake up to this song on my alarm clock... you would think I now would hate it, but on the contrary I freaking love this song. Side note, for the Capital Hill Block Party last year I actually got my parents to come up from Texas and check it out...needless to say they enjoyed everything, particularly the people watching.
Fun with reverb!
Love the bass in this song

The Shins? Hardly. This band is completely great in their own way. Check 'em out live if you ever have the chance. Best live rock vocals I've heard in a long time. The album is solid through and through. My top pick of the year. Word has it they are already set to call it quits and move home closer to family. Bummer for us.
striking pretty close to home when people post to say, "this sounds NOTHING like...whoever." Yeah, I hear some shinnyness. So what? It's not an insult.
it's like the shins married to my morning jacket.
Man I think this really is some wild, wild stuff. Tasty, tasty candidate for further investigation...
Interesting that Bill chose to play the Shins right after this one... I like both groups - a little similar, but different.

Well three months later and i'm on schedule to see them live this coming weekend; guess they haven't given up just yet...

Never heard of this band, album, or song, but I'm digging it in a big way. Thanks as usual RP
This is a GREAT album, am not usually down with MOR rock but this is an exception. Highlight tracks include St Augustine, Our Swords and Great Salt Lake. Quality music.
Hmmm, caught my ear right away... I like it so far....

Whoa.
