You're all I ever wanted to uphold
I would never ever let you go
I'm opening and hoping we can grow

Earth child
With your spaced out eyes
I think I recognize you from somewhere
Don't we have something to do together
Like opening the gateway into heaven

Father
Grandfather
Your fire lights the darkness of my soul
Wash me in the color of the rainbow
And plant me in the waters of her womb

Exactly what this song reminded me of, cover art too ~ very psyche-shamanic.
I hope there are live musicians though, if you ever travel with that special tea. EnJOY.

same. although, it could also have to do with the timing. seems that lately, the down tempo/trancy/droney type stuff is played in the mornings when i really need more up tempo stuff on RP. it's a PSD for me.
Cool tune thanks!

Same here! I agree!

From the intro I was sure this was going to be Harry Manx.  Not even close.

Very Interesting/Eclectic Band from Colorado - they were great live!!

Colorado?     Guatemala is what wiki says.

Love the album cover art.
Loving the 'out of this world' musical voyage...

Spaceship - Kesha
Space Oddity - David Bowie
Space Child - Kan'Nal

All gooduns too (for me...)

Thank you so much for all the great music you always play. It's gorgeous including this song right here! Thank you (now) Alanna and William. Long live Radio Paradise. And greetings from Germany.

The start of it put me in mind of Godless, from The Dandy Warhols.
how do you say "Meh" in guatemalan?
I had to stop and listen.

A bit of a grunge sound?  Cleaner.
The more I hear this tune, the more I like it!!  Thanx RP!
Good Tune! I never heard it before.  Thanx RP!

I like the psihedelic cover :)
Reminded me of PJ's "Sad". Still OK
The second time that you've played this song in two days. The first time I heard it, on the 4th, it stopped me in my tracks (I was literally listening to something else on headphones, yet I heard wisps of the song coming through.) I immediately stopped and downloaded a good deal of their content. They have produced three different versions of this song, but the one that you play here is the first one, found on their self-titled debut album, and it is IMHO the finest rendition. Both the vocalist and band hold back, giving the song a melancholy atmosphere, and far more weight.

Thanks again, Bill and Rebecca, for turning us on to amazing music!

P.S. - The follow-up of Choir of Young Believers, Hollow Talk was a master-stroke!

Reminds me slightly in some respects of the mellower parts of Ahead By a Century by the Tragically Hip (which is a great song imo btw).

Bill, I am going to go broke at this rate! I have bought almost everything you have played in the last hour; including complete albums! Just kidding! Keep it coming, the money is well spent {#Biggrin}

Nice.
Thank the Lord for PSD to get rid of this dirge.
Defenitly a 10
The cover art is a brilliant visual reinterpretation of ancient Mesoamerican worldview.
Channeling Mick Jagger......
Wonderful! 10 it is.

Dreadful.
It's complicated with this tune... it's great in his own way. Very "gewöhnungsbedÌrftig". :)

For me it's a "10" (though I exaggarate 1 point)

Actually, I would've liked it if it were Tool-ish.  To me it sounded like a bad Rusted Root cover band.  Mind you, there's no such thing as a good Rusted Root cover band let alone a good Rusted Root song.  {#Snooty}

Me likey.
Hmm..cover is cool.
Nice segue:  Wind Cries Mary to this.
Do i detect a 'space' theme going on here? Abit of 'Jane' from jefferson starship would go down well, or 'stairway to the stars' from blue oyster cult, or 'stars die' from porcupine tree

I'm odd man out here. This one sucks. Talk about insipid!
I am tripping here, it is 1975 and I am 15 years old smoking weed.

It's A Beautiful Day + Sonic Youth

North Shore. Friday Night. Star-filled sky. BIG fire. BIGGER waves. Trippin to the sound of the surf and Kan'Nal... absolute BLISS!
And now you follow-on with the Waimanalo Blues — that's it, this day is shot — I'm slipping back in time... THANKS BILL!{#Meditate}

Hell yeah, and that's why it's great. These guys are fabulous in concert, and the hot women in outrageous costumes spinning fire don't hurt, either.
This song is packed so full of hippie-ness that now my speakers are emitting incense and patchouli scents.

I don't know what's worse - the insipid lyrics, or the inane "ha-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la" repeating over and over.  At least both match the awful album art in level of suckitude.

I can't give it negative 20 points, so I'll settle for a 1.
{#Headache} My headache just got a lot worse. Think I'm gonna have to 1 it.

You could argue that the orthography should change to emphasize the pronunciation rhyming with hiss, miss, etc. On the other hand, I believe Dis as in City of as in the 5th layer of hell and eternal residence of the burning coffins of heretics is pronounced the same, so I suppose either spelling is fine, even with the etymology as a truncation of disrespect.

Saw them at the Apogeae festival this summer, they were incredible in concert - of course, it always helps when you know most of the words to most of the songs thanks to RP, and there's a VJ doing the most incredible video streams on a huge Triangle abve the stage. They are natives of Paonia, this timy BFE town in way west Colorado, which is where the festival was. Amazing to hear the local band from tiny town make good, of course i've only ever heard them on RP. But thats the best venue in my book. This song is definitely their worst, a shame to tarnish them for others first impression - check out their upbeat stuff.
Now where's my waterpipe?? a 9
This has really grown on me. Love it! Mari, did you ever get round to answering the phone? neat image!
Absolutely awesome... 3rd or 4th time I've heard this and I can only say thanks RP -- I'da never known. This just blows me away...

Love that Futurama episode. Great cultural reference, kazuma. Interesting song, though for the most part I don't mean that as a compliment. It's like they started with a good seed of an idea, then ran out about a minute and a half in. The music score must read ad lib ad nauseam. Decent, but no better than that.
new to me....and I like it!
A very very bad The Cure imitation.
Comin' in from the garden, to answer the phone, logged on, Kan'Nal - Space Child, Wow! Bugga the fire, the company, music is it, play on!
These lyrics stink.

They're doing a laid back acoustic set at the Boulder Creek Fest this weekend.
