This sounds like the Brazilian Jazz from the 50's. Not quite "Summer Samba" from Walter Wanderly, but still quite good !!!
"Oh, you can kiss me on a Monday;
A Monday, a Monday is very, very good!
Or you can kiss me on a Tuesday;
A Tuesday, a Tuesday, in fact I wish you would."

... and 20 years old!
"Fee", by Phish, would be good with this.

so good awesome
I really like this song, for about 3 minutes.  Then...not so much
Listen RP in April... boring.
I chuckle a bit thinking about the bassoonist counting all those rests and then the occasional big moment dotted eight note blow.
This song always makes me wanna go "cha-cha-cha"......
The vocal mix is a little low.{#Shhh}

Walter Mitty dreams crashing around my feet, I returned to the true love of my life. Never left. And it's no longer Feb 14th.

A post of coolness — deserves a bump.

I'd recognize Medeski, Martin, and Wood anywhere...except it's not them. Still has kind of a cool '60s cocktail party vibe.

Try listening to this at Café del Mar - Sant Antoni Capmany - or at Cala d'es Comte. It acquires another dimension :-)
Same group?

The Yachting Type

I think not.

yes yes blissfully chilled in a sun splashed cosmic motion..{#Cheers}
Good ole Ken Nordine! What a great voice. You know he did a spoken word CD called Colors. Crimson is a great song. You might consider including him in the mix some time Bill!

I got excited to hear this song on RP just now, as it's a favorite of mine, but then I realized that RP is where I heard the song in the first place!
Or a man called Adam Yauch?

May he rest in peace.

One of the most perfect cocktail hour songs. Second only to "Tangerine Speedo."

Hilton Head Island loves this song.

Someone way down below suggested the people on the cover were shooting at illegal immigrants at the Texan border, but I hope that is not the case.

New cover art added: so much for that spirited discussion.  Still a good tune, however.
Which reminds me, time to go catch some more white Springs to marinade.

There was a short clip of this song featured on this past Monday's episode of House!  yeah — love this track
I was listening to RP, and holy shit, a showing of Ocean's 11 broke out!
See 'im momma?, yep defiantly looks like an Atheist to me. Quick afore he gits!
A Man Called Adam (also abbreviated AMCA) are British artists. They consist of Sally Rodgers and Steve Jones. I love the sound even though that was not really what the ocean ever sounded like for the 10 + months we played on the Pacific. I would have gladly traded 3-11 ocean Tsunami for this album though! As far as i can tell, they only released 2 albums & 2 compilation albums.

The Apple (Big Life, 1991)
Duende (Other Records, 1998)

A Man Called Adam: Collected Works Volume One (2010, Other Records)
A Man Called Adam: Collected Works Volume Two (2010, Other Records)

I hope they can find it in their hearts to give us a few more great albums! Let them know that you agree with me if you want too! =)

Their web site is:

Could be mountain folk in the Southern Appalachians.  We're constantly preparing for a Zombie Apocalypse, Commie Invasion, Yankee Second Coming, or just plain unpleasant tourists — and we like latin boogie jazz.

I would say its more likely somewhere in the South!

I have no explanation for why I really like this song, but I do...I just do. Vin Scelsa would definitely play this.

Most of you summed it up for me already!

It started with Ann taking a bet that she could knock down a can on the first shot, but by the time the tale got to Sweden...

The shots mostly come from the other direction, Darkmatter. Cool little techno/chill/nostalgia/lounge piece.

Very Austin Powers-ish, baby

Very Kruder & Dorfmeister-ish.. I like it !

From the band name to the album cover to the music itself, this is all just a bit too precious for my taste.

"Acid Jazz" is one label attached to them.  Though labels tend to be pretty arbitrary.  Good groove anyway.

While I can understand the appeal of Drum 'n Base, it usually manages to really annoy me in about 15 seconds.
This is probably even too mild to be labelled drum 'n base, and it has a tasty Latin sauce, but still.
LRC-time for me.

A bit long for my taste.
