I seen the demons
But they didn't make a sound
They tried to reach me
But I lay upon the ground
I seen the people
But they didn't make a sound
They tried to reach me
But I gave the runaround
I reached for feelings
But they didn't make a sound
They tried to reach me
But I lay upon the ground

Saw miles and miles of squares
Where's the feeling there?
Still nobody cares
For miles and miles of squares

Daydream
I fell asleep amid the flowers
Daydream
I fell asleep amid the flowers

I seen the demons
But they didn't make a sound
They tried to reach me
But I lay upon the ground
I seen the people
But they didn't make a sound
They tried to reach me
But I gave the runaround

Anyone have a recommendation for a Beta Band CD? Would like to add them to my collection, not sure where to start...
Try 'The Three EPS' as it's a distillation of their first 3 releases, so an obvious choice.
hm, "I Monster - Daydream" song remake? nice one, groovy :)

What a lazy comment. When? At what point did the world (maybe you're only talking about music) become exhausted of...everything? Really, anytime I hear this, I just want to pin the person making the claim down as to when the threshold was crossed.
quite possibly my favorite band... an unfortunate break-up! we could all use a little bit more of the Beta Band... it'd be a much more 'relaxed' world, eh? anyway... Steve Mason (singer) has a project called King Biscuit Time.. haven't heard it yet, anybody checked it out? thanks for the song RP!! starts off the friday morning on an excellent foot!

I think you guys take your music way to serious. Mayber we ought to start an American Bandstand type of rating. "I give it an 83 because it's got a good tune and I an sing along to it."
........... 88.8! ( for the comment!) 90 for the song!

This song is heavily based on "Daydream", a song by The Wallace Collection from 1969. IMHO this places it in the same category as much of the hit chart drivel which recycles old hits because it pretty much guarantees success. It has been done before.

I always keep getting them mixed up with Blue Man Group. Nice funky tune in its own right, though.
Crunchy.

I would love to hear some more "stuff like this". I've been around for the last fifteen or twenty years and I haven't heard anything that compares. Perhaps you care to enlighten us.
This song is heavily based on "Daydream", a song by The Wallace Collection from 1969. IMHO this places it in the same category as much of the hit chart drivel which recycles old hits because it pretty much guarantees success. It has been done before. The reason why most of you don't recognize the original song -- aside from its age -- is probably because TWC was a Belgian band and the success of the song was mostly restricted to parts of Europe.
I got the Six Feet Under CD and first season from the library a while ago. It all started with a Zero7 song. I've heard the intro enough to just skip it. I do like this song and several others on it, too. We loved the first season and will be checking out the second season soon. I heard Bill saying that he'd just finished watching the 5th (final) season and really enjoyed it. Thank you, Bill, for not being an 'ending-spoiler'.

To call it groundbreaking is going a bit OTT, theres quite a bit of stuff like this around has been for the last 15-20 years or so. Good tune tho.

Not too bad, but as with most covers/remixes, mostly just makes me want to hear the original.
big fat zooming heart-eyes to the uploader

Is anybody else hearing Air in here?
When I tell people I like the Beta Band, a lot of them recommend Air. I've listened to Air, but from what I can tell, the similarities are limited to slow melodic rhythms, minor key tonality, and electronic influences. That's OK, but it's not what makes the Beta Band great. So far, Beta Band seems better at creating rich layers of structure--both rhythm and sound. Their buildups are slow and pregnant. Their breakdowns are kick-ass ("Squares" is a bad example of this, but check out "Inner Meet Me"). In contrast, a lot of Air's songs are just repetitive and flat. It's either "La Femme d'Argent" or "All I Need" that ends up sounding like somebody's just fiddling with the filter cutoff and resonance knobs on a single sawtooth-ish note. Come on. Get creative.
Wierd . . . but I like it.
Is this a Sneaker Pimps cover? I really miss tripp hopp and I haven't heard of these guys so thats good, but whats their story?
Where is the fast forward button >>
A strong concept. Love it!

Nice! *This* is why I listen to RP.
This is NOT the morning for messing around with experimental music. I know beta band is rather good, but this morning: I don't need this. 3/10.
There need to be more grooves like this on RP. I love it. This, IMHO, is the best type of music to work by.
Interesting sound? Try groundbreaking sound. Beta Band! Come back, come back!

Exactly my point...
