Don't run away
Midnight hideaway
Don't you fade away
'Til the morning light

Don't run away
Midnight hideaway
Don't you fade away
'Til the morning light

I see you from my window
In the shadows of the night
You're standing on Love Street
On the beat of better things

I'll see you standing there
You don't care anymore
And love in your life
Stabbing knife in my heart

Don't run away
Midnight hideaway
Don't you fade away
'Til the morning light

Don't run away
Midnight hideaway
Don't you fade away
'Til the morning light

I'll see you standing there
You don't care anymore
And love in your life
Stabbing knife in my heart

Don't run away
Midnight hideaway
Don't you fade away
'Til the morning light

She might fade away
She might fade away
She might fade away
She might fade away
She might fade away
She might fade away
She might fade away
She might fade away

I just love this song.
If you're not up dancing when this comes on,
YOUR STEREO ISN'T TURNED UP LOUD ENOUGH!!!
this track is infectious and it first infected me in the 80s

not enough for me.
My first time hearing them was when they (and then Los Lobos, on the heels of La Bamba) opened for U2 in Vancouver. A great night overall.

I saw them for free in Pittsburgh in 2022, agree they rock hard. See them when you can!

ow my god, so much time passed I don't hear this song.

Love your passion for this song.

I agree. It's interfering with work. Can't stop dancing.
I discovered the BoDeans after Sam Llanas sang background on a Robbie Robertson album. They're one of my favorite groups from the 90's.
interesting that there are so many positive comments on this one - not one of their best, totally my opinion. but the BoDeans are a fun live group and the two albums i bought are still great music to drive with

Is that a banana split? Great song. Great dancing bananas.

We need more BoDeans!

My ex-girlfriend just could not be still whenever this song came on.  I still remember her fondly for that...

I agree about the song.  I disagree about the dancing bananas... there are already far too many.

Well, as much as it might seem embarassing to some to admit this - (and I don't really believe in embarassment much anyway) - when I'm feeling down or blue or overworked or lonely or .... in a party mood or just plain happy to be alive ....   or just about  ANY wa y, actually, those crazy little bananas always conjure up a smile (and usually also a bit of a dance-along). So there you go. To each her / his own, obviously. I haven't tired of them yet.

Or for the end of a tough and dreary day. Or for riding along in ANY weather.... Just love  it. Period. No end to the introduction of new music  (for me) from you guys. Thanks so much RP!!!

RP used to play a better live version of this. Why changing to this recording which is so heavily played ?

Agree that the live version is a bit "better".  But a matter of degrees, I suppose?

The album is Joe Dirt Car.  I have that version on my "garage rock" playlist on Spotify.  In my garage I can listen to it while damaging my hearing.    I do love this song.
Saw the Bodeans 9 years ago in Sandpoint ID Great live performance

Bless Bill! I was already on cold turkey for 24 hours, finally it's back again.

I've just seen your new player for the first time.  I like it.  Lots of info.  Sounds good.  Does  it stream FLAC by default?
There are other/better BoDeans songs ):
Stop p!aging this song every day

Saw the BoDeans at the Sandpoint Music Festival 2008 and their live music was great. There is more than Fadeaway.

LOL! "We found love in a hopeless place, we found love in a hopeless place, we found love in a hope....."
It's still on my iPod, tho.
The same thing over and over and over again. 3 minutes too long.
I am of an age where I prefer  Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams to Sex, drugs, rock and roll. Of course, it wasn't always that way.
Oh wait, I had to come back and say, the rock and roll should be in there too.
How many times a day does this play?
Great driving rhythm and pace, great harmonies and arrangement. Not my fave but definitely a classic.
Still stands up in 2016
Don't you fade away.
This song was used in a Playboy video of Donna Edmondson, great visuals along with this song.
What a great relief after struggling through Dave Matthews.  Rock on BoDeans!!
Blèh, boooooooooringggg! Endless whining {#Frustrated}
RP Theme tune!    I like it.   it's part of the family, like Eastenders or The Archers... or worse, Corrie!  7
Ugh, could this song be more repetitive? I think it was what the PSD button was invented for!
..... think that this was the first thing I ever heard on RP....... still great.
Big BoDeans fan hear, but have to concur with some of the other recent posters, lots more better stuff by them.
First three notes, know this song.  Immediately hit 10.  Never a doubt or second thought on this one.  Anyone wanna get up and dance?{#Bananapiano}{#Bananajam}{#Music}
I really love this song, but honestly, it seems like we hear it everyday.

Bleah. Hate this song.
Plenty of other great stuff by the BoDeans though.
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..
Not sure why, but I've never cared for the BoDeans's sound.  Still, I felt kinda bad for them when they opened for Bob Dylan and Paul Simon way back in 2000.  Seemed like no one except a committed handful of fans were paying them any attention.
Soooo great, loving it! {#Bananajam}
AAAAAAARRRRGH! Not again...

That is about once every 10 days too much. lol  I think this song may even have torture potential.

I said "approximately".

Love these guys — from this time period. Saw them (him?) performing live recently in Berkeley CA — and was very disappointed. They have changed their sound, practically blew us out of the place with their volume — not the same BoDeans anymore, sadly. That said, I still like all their old stuff.

Yes I agree, a bit overplayed.  There must be other little gems on this album.  Bill is usually good a finding them...

Like this, love "Angels" from the same album.

I say that about Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Tori Amos and Neko Case but I don't complain about it except this once...... It's their station.

(original link broken)
a great road-tested bar band. big fun.
I like this, but it gets played WAY too much...
Every time I hear the first few clucking notes of the intro i think "Oh man, not this again! Didn't they just play it yesterday, and the day before?" 30 seconds later I'm drumming on the desk and bobbing my head. Thanks for keeping this forgotten classic a little less forgotten.FYI, they do have some other great songs. "Say about love" is responsible for my only speeding ticket, for example.

This tune is getting a bit long it the tooth for me.

My dog says "Who wouldn't?"

Love those BoDeans. Thanks! I can still listen to their CD's all the way through, again and again.

Sadly, WFNX is no more as of a few months ago.  I think it's now sports or talk or some other BS.
Another great RP "album":

Fadeaway (BoDeans)
I Wanna Be Adored (Stone Roses)
Steel and Glass (John Lennon)

We all get old. Some do better with age than others...

It's got a very different tempo to me.  "Police and Thieves" was written and originally recorded by Junior Murvin, by the way.

Someone PLEASE upload "Good Work" from "Joe Dirt Car." That yell of "Fire in the Hole!" and the sound of shattering glass is worth the rest of the song. Begging. Please. {#Pray}

This is (one kind of) R&R as I understand it!

Funky, happy, young, simple and danceable with lots of melody.
