Great...I always rated their drummer, Glenn..someone.

Yes, he was pretty handy. Not just a 'tub thumper' like a lot of the drummers from that era.

Best album of Simple Minds together with New Gold Dream , more than 25 Years ago , and still sound so different .

I totally agree. It was my fave back then, though Sons and Fascination/Sister Feelings Call and Empires and Dance were all great, as well.

I actually missed hearing this on RP tonight. Guess I'll have to pull out the vinyl now. Aw, shucks.

To me, the album that this track appeared on was their last good thing. Just my opinion.

ABC Australia has been using this a an intro the music video show Rage for years, I have never heard song in full this before now.

You learn something every day.

Well - there you go - I just realised this was part of the Rage theme as well.

I love Simple Minds. This is one I hadn't heard before... Interesting follow-up to Lindsey Buckingham's "Trouble." Bill, you are a wizard. {#Notworthy}
I like the original release of this song, but this is a very interesting mix as well.  I think I'll try to track it down...

Thank you for playing a deeper cut from Simple Minds. And it was a nice segue from "The Royal We" by Silversun Pickups.

Cl-a-a-a-a-ss, don't think I've heard 'the Minds' on RP before. I've enjoyed their resurgence in the last year, saw them play last December and was on vacation in Italy last month, visiting Venice, and the Piazza San Marco was all set up for their gig that night!

No, they're not Dutch, Scottish mainly.
Thank you for playing a deeper cut from Simple Minds. And it was a nice segue from "The Royal We" by Silversun Pickups.

One of the most powerfull Simple Minds songs , Oh my God  25 Years passed from the first time I heard it{#Drummer}

Great! For old time's sake. Great album as well.
And, hey, were they a Dutch band: so many replies from Holland?

Yes, what a blast from the past! All the memories bubbling up, keeping me from working...

Oh the nostalgia!
They had magic then! pompous perhaps, still very powerful too... And they had developed quite a bit to this point... Bono took his c(l)ues... probably their last great album...
I deleted my comment, because I thought I was over reacting to something that was overdone and I always try to make a constructive comment, but Tux already replied. So now you know what I wrote, as yet. OK then

Extended! As if it wasn't terribly overdone, already. To me it doesn't sound there's much of a song, creativity or emotion underneath all the bombast.
My thoughts more or less. LESS!

Pardon me. complete fanboy squeee and meltdown Thank you.
lETS NOT BE ASHAMED OF THE 80S AND ENJOY..WHAT ABOUT SOME omd??
thanks:-)
This once again followed "Grace". This is the first Simple Minds song I ever heard, and it's still one of my favorites.
I worked with a guy once back when Simple Minds first broke loose. He was a "musician" and a computer programmer. lethal combination, but I digress. He said he thought Simple Minds were way to "pretentious" -- that they tried to be bigger than life. Well, no shit, and you know what? They are, and they kick some serious ass. I think my friend was the pretentious one. MORE!
Ahhhh...finally one of the good older songs by the lads from Glasgow! Good to hear this. :)
Nice to come into this great smooth soundscape out of Jeff Buckley's screeching on Grace. Simple Minds make me think of university days.....mmmmmmmmm. :goodvibes:
OMG .... fantastic ... wow thanks Bill !!!!
