Is it as old as it sounds?
Be it as it may, it's great, straight 8!
Annoying schmaltz. 1
Madonna wishes she was as genuine as Sarah Cracknell. No one has come close to capturing this sound so brilliantly.
UGGGhhh....sounds like Madonna...thanks but no thanks!{#Beat}
A classic feel good song. Never got the play in the States that it deserved.
Supremes exactly! With the vintage sounds I really thought it was a 60's hit. Good stuff. The flutes make me think of one of the Christmas clamation classics. Not sure which one or why. Sorry I am just weird. JohnBauer wrote:
IMHO, women just don't get more gorgeous than Sarah Cracknell.
Wow, I strongly agree. I didnt think the face would be as nice as the voice.

The first couple of lines made me check to see if it was Madonna singing.
My reaction too - Madonna, is that you?
Etienne football France football - Inter football, France football une emission du service des sports presente par Jaques Vendou!
Petula Clark is back?
this song is making me happy today
Jesus! Always a huge fan of St. Etienne. Today music is just perfect!! Please, play Mario's Cafe and Kiss and Make Up and obviously Join Our Club and Like A Motorway and You're In A Bad Way and Heart Failed and ...
Wasn't it Bill that described these guys as 'British pop the way it should be'?
Nice!
Great great one! Really liked them since, well, the first time I heard them actually.

Just a beautiful sound and instrumentation. That voice is very enticing. A strong eight.
Agreed.
RP plays disco now?
meh
Great to hear this on Radio Paradise. Looking forward to hearing more - something from Tales from Turnpike House, perhaps?

Ahh, what a breath of fresh air this album was in the beginning of the 90's, among all the grunge and gloom. This song remains stellar throughout the years!

I like it too, but it would really be at home playing in Macy's while I shop for ties.
Went in for power business ties, came out with paisley and tie-dyes
I love the instrumental in this song.

Definitely 60's MOD, like Dusty Springfield meets The Avengers and don't forget the white go go boots!
hehe so i'm not the only one who got The Avengers mental image :)
I have to admit, I was chair dancing to this. Cool set.
After hearing this on RP, I bought the album.

Tailor made music for the airport cocktail lounge. Lovely.
I love this! Pop Perfect!

Thanks for the tip! I'll check it out...

Not my kind of music at all! But I like it a lot!!! I'm definitely looking forward to hearing more St-Etienne! Very suprised to see the so-so ratings by the way -- this song had me moving!

Has that nice Jet Age/Googie circa 1965 feel to it. Welcome to the cocktail lounge, may I take your order?
Not my kind of music at all! But I like it a lot!!! I agree, this would be a great little tune to listen to in a lounge setting... I'm mostly interested in blues/rock/anything with guitar songs but I couldn't help get hooked to this groovy retro sound. I'm definitely looking forward to hearing more St-Etienne! Very suprised to see the so-so ratings by the way -- this song had me moving!
More St. Etienne please! They have lots of fab tracks.
I heart this song!
Very 60s MOD, I like it!
Great listening tune.
Mmmm, this song is delicious!
Huh. This is on a chillout album a friend has. Great tune for hanging out in the garage on a summer day.
RP does it again! It's great to hear once-loved but forgotten songs like this brought back to life.
Sunny, happy, trippy. I see ice-cold G&Ts with a picnic on a lazy Sunday...
As I've read elsewhere, this is British pop the way it should be. Light, catchy, and upbeat. Suits RP wonderfully :)
Where do they put the crack in water?

hmm, tempting, too early in the morning for a martini though. anyway, this is very nice and really refreshing. I give it an 8.

just bumped this from an 8 to a 9. definitely feeling the vibe this morning
I have always liked this album.
I kinda like the 60's "pop-ish" feel of this song.

I agree. She doesn't have balls like Madonna.
Sounds like a Supremes Wannabe act. Still, I like the airy feel and vocals and that flute hook is positively mesmerizing. 8O

Dreamy.

Breezy... and somewhat cheezy... but likeable.
Have not heard this one in a long, long time. For some reason this CD always reminds me of summer. There's a cover of Neil Young's "Only Love Can Break Your Heart" on this disc which is not bad.
