Excellent older work by The Sam Roberts Band. They've tended to go more mainstream and "poppy" but still put out great tracks. Saw them a couple of times and most recently in San Diego a few years ago and man, they can put on a great show, even if it was for less than fifty fans.

What an awesome hour an 1/2 here at Radio Paradise!!! Yes, this is why I come here.  Calexico, New Order, Fleet Foxes, Guster, Steve Miller, Emancipator, Down Like Silver, Colors in the Air, Sam Roberts.  I have been bed ridden for two weeks and haven't even had a chance to hear any RP but now, I am DANCING!!!!!  RP reinforces my joie de vivre.  OMG!!!!!!!!! So glad to be alive.

Sam Roberts headlined at the Canada Day celebrations at Parliament Hill on July 1. Good show. There were about 250,000 people there. Apparently the appearance is Prince William and his bride brought extra people down for the celebrations.

Totally agreed, Chemical City is an inspired bit of songwriting and performance that sounds way less formulaic than WWBIAF. Give "Mind Flood" a spin RP, and I will guarantee good ratings.

For a non-Canadian audience, hearing it on RP might be a novelty. One of the shortcomings of Cancon - a chronic overplaying of stuff that should be brought out only occasionally. SmilinJimmy - lead the way!!

Sam has some good stuff... but the Canadian (eastern media) has certainly put this guy into the spotlight His music is OK but not Godlike by any means. Some good tunes... but no divine messanger or anything like that

I can't speak to the cute thing, but I saw him open for the Tragically Hip last year and he was great and so was his band. They all had great energy and were a perfect warm up for the Hip.
