Definitely would like to hear this track on a more regular basis- one of their best!
Radiohead have revealed little details about the new album to be released in 2006. I have written a couple of articles, including an mp3 of "Arpeggi" and video link for "House of Cards." (click here) (click here)
I have seen the song live and have almost all of the versions of this song, and I can say for sure that Thom changes the lyrics in those first two lines. He has forgotten the lyrics, too, as in his encore at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire show in 2003, when he had to ask audience member how the lyrics went. It varies from "to have your babies" to "to have you be in peace" andrewpickford81 wrote:
Beautiful chord progression, some debate over the lyrics, i prefer to believe the opening line is.. 'I'll drown my beliefs To have your babies'

(I like your way of expressing the feeling)

Ya'll are a bunch of dirty RH haters. Grow up. RH did after Creep and nobody seems to get it. They moved on, so should you.

Several months later...this song still blows badly enough to make me take off the headphones for a few minutes and hope there's no residue left on them when the song is over. I'm usually a lot more tolerant of songs that I don't particularly like, but this one, for some reason, is one of the most annoying pieces of music I think I've ever been subjected to.
Truelove was Tom's maiden great aunt.
Whine! Whine! Whine! Shaddap fer godsakes!
fingernails down a blackboard And the teen angst is so thick, it makes me want to take a shower.
i'm not normally one to hack on thom yorke, as he's generally amazing. but i have to say - this is not his best effort.

This song might have the best lyrics ever written, but I can't get past the whiney monotone vocal presentation and elementary guitar strumming far enough to even think about the lyrics. One word: Ouch!
They may have some song writing ablilities, however they should have someone else play and sing them. They are horrible. (IMHO)
Radiohead's studio work is great, but you really appreciate albums like Kid A and Amnesiac more after you see songs from these albums performed live. Thankfully, they're still including "National Anthem", "You and Whose Army", "Idioteque", and "I Might Be Wrong" in their current HTTT tour setlist. Their live album, "I Might be Wrong" will give you a taste, but see them live if you can! I uploaded the "True Love Waits", so I'll supply the lyrics and some info about the song, taken from a fan website (www.greenplastic.com): I'll drown my beliefs To have you be in peace I'll dress like your niece And wash your swollen feet Just don't leave Don't leave I'm not living I'm just killing time Your tiny hands Your crazy kitten smile Just don't leave Don't leave And true love waits In haunted attics And true love lives On lollipops and crisps Just don't leave Don't leave Just don't leave Don't leave True Love Waits" is one of the most requested live songs that Radiohead has in their catalog. The band have occasionally performed this song prior to the release of OK Computer and during the Kid A and Amnesiac tours but have yet to record it in a studio. When asked about the meaning of the line "I'll dress like your niece," Thom had this to say: "the difference between young and old when people start to dress sensible and act their age. this person is offering not to do that to keep the other. alles klarr?" According to Thom, the line "On lollipops and crisps" is from an article he read: "I read an article about a child who was between 5-8 yrs old who was left on his/her own for a week in a house when his parents left on holiday and he lived on lollipops on crisps. True"
