Drink up baby down,
Mmm, are you in or are you out?
Leave your things behind,
'Cause it's all going off without you,
Excuse me, too busy,
You're writing your tragedy,
These mishaps you bubble wrap,
When you've no idea what you're like.

So let go, so let go, hmm jump in,
Oh well whatcha waiting for? it's alright,
'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown,
So let go, yeah let go, just get in,
Oh it's so amazing here, it's alright,
'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown.

It gains the more it gives,
And then it rises with the fall,
So hand me that remote,
Can't you see that all that stuff's a sideshow?
Such boundless pleasure,
We've no time for later now,
You can't await your own arrival,
You've twenty seconds to comply.

So let go, so let go 'n' jump in,
Oh well whatcha waiting for? it's alright,
'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown
So let go, yeah let go, just get in,
Oh, it's so amazing here, it's alright,
'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown.

So let go, hmm jump in,
Oh well whatcha waiting for? it's alright,
'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown,
So let go, yeah let go, just get in,
Oh it's so amazing here, it's alright,
'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown.

In the breakdown,
'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown,
Yeah, the breakdown,
So amazing here,
'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown.

No, that would be what is playing on pop radio right now.  Precisely why you and I are here instead.

Dude, the song was recorded in 2002.  This is the future.  'Nuff said.
This lady deserves much, much respect!  She is amazing and eclectic... She'll keep on keeping on and I can't wait to hear more!  Yeah, if Jeff Beck is on to it, then I think we have some real cred here...  That is, if you are keeping score.
It's healthy to hear opposing opinions.  Yes she is pop leaning, HOWEVER, she is a multi instrumentalist and even makes her own instruments.  Her vocal style is unique and has graced the likes of Jeff Beck.  (rollin & tumblin)   You might youtube "live at Ronnie Scott's" with Jeff Beck and Imogen Heap.  The woman is the real deal.  Just sayin'
I really like Imogen Heap. Every other modern day female singer seems to be trying to emulate her.

Please. If your comment is not positive why bother. Imogen Heap is a grammy award winning engineer, producer and song writer. Just because it's not your personal taste why be unpleasant. Hit the PSD button if you don't like something but please stop being negative.

Thanks!!  That is SERIOUSLY amazing!  I have even more respect for Imogen now, she is so talented.  I saw her perform live a few years ago at the Wiltern in LA — one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Clever man, that Bill. 'Hold Tight' followed by 'Let Go' ... followed by?
This song was always such a false-positive. It's awesome, the rest of the album made me keep hitting the right-arrow for NEXT

I find that I enjoy this song a lot more now that it's not played as often, and since the hype from "Garden State" has died down. I liked it before, but I like it even more now when I hear it.
Used to perfection in the Garden State trailer:

Like it kind of like all frou frou, but am bored by the end of the song. Not captivating enough to really be called a good song.

ahhh!  It IS Imogen!  Fabulous, cause I was jonesin' for some more tunes by her - thanks to RP for tuning me into this wonderful artist.

good ear.
I like this tune alot, but somehow it seems just as pretentious as the movie it's the ending theme for.

Oh well...as long as that person singing is a woman. Please.
Big crowded arrangements are a bold gamble but for me it works here, mostly on the strength of the vocal.  I have this and all of Imo's other CDs.

Is this Imogen Heap?
 dannykboyd wrote:
most awesome tune! but what is "that" standing in the left window on the album cover?

That's Guy Sigsworth, the other half of Frou Frou, standing in the left window.

Anyways, I love this song. Awesome song from a incredible album. {#Notworthy}

I often find her silly, childish, awkward, and pretentious.

But there's no doubting that this is a beautiful song.

Imogen Heap (the vocalist) has a song called "Hide and Seek", which was featured on "Grey's Anatomy", but I don't know if it's on any of the soundtracks. Her songs are also on two of Zach Braff's soundtracks - this one is on Garden State, and "Hide and Seek" is on the soundtrack for The Last Kiss.

Only 2 tracks from this album are not in the RP rotation. That's a seriously high percentage. Most albums, even ones that are good, only get a few tracks.
Now the question -- does that say more about the quality of the album or the. . .or. . .um, RP's willingness to play all this fricking frou?

Years ago I got this song for free on a MacAddict CD. I've always loved it. Great stuff. Thanks for playing it.
This is the only thing I've heard from Imogen Heap that doesn't make me want to scrape broken bottles across my skin.
