I want to give you a gift,
Life hand it over to love
and kiss the cheeks
of brothers and sisters
those who did not have the strength
who lost faith in the Kingdom,
the Authority, and Righteousness
in man in tomorrow

and one more wish,
Life fly far
give life to the people
who no longer are
and those who shall soon disappear

yes, and one single thing, Life
I wish those who see light and beauty
who know man and love
who await dawn
and believe in it
that joy makes its nest
and beauty
that happiness
fills the nest and love.

Fringe and great. This is what RP is about.
BTW, I love this cover art.
Heard it for the first  time. wow

hope to hear it again, at other times. atm i'm at work, would love to hear it when driving, biking, chillin....

thanks bill
I could have sworn I heard someone crunch on a potato chip right when the instrumental break started.
Neh. Not for me. Not getting Ms. Boine.
All you 6's & 7's - Enjoy.
This should be rated better than a '6.1'
I love RP, opens to door and mind/ears to new delights...
This 'Mari' just blows me away! RP rules the world!
Straight away a '10' because she is a goddess and I want to marry her.😍🐨
No RP discovery for me. I bought this CD 25 years ago. Rated 9 for this song.
Definitely recommend this one with some good headphones! The vocals are fragile, but I love the way the words sound. The drum in the background keeps the song moving forward, and the subtle electric guitar riffs behind it all gives this a very sci-fi feel!~

This is Mari Boine, she is a Norwegian Samii folk singer and creates her own content. Some of her content is similar to all other music made inspired by other musicians, but that does not make it any less genuine. Bill is truly gifted at managing to find some of the valuable artists of Norway and exposing them on RP, music you would never be able to find by yourself, so appreciate it.

Please stop compartmentalization and just apprechiate.

Listening to singers like this has made me give up on commercial radio with their same shit different day play lists

Geweldig, dit!!! xkx Kicks
This is excellent! After just actively listening to it I can fully appreciate it's glory. I too easily skipped over it when it was just background.  Thanks, yet again, Bill! Would have never found it otherwise.
OK, this is kind of cool, but the bass player needs to learn a few more notes.

Appearing on the Real World label, created by him and WOMAD
Way ahead of it's time as it was 1998 release.  I love bands that can pull off modern and traditional as brilliantly as they do.
that was interesting. Some deep sounds there.

If you don't like the beer being served, then it's time to head for another pub.
We wants it. We needs it. Must have the precious.
Love it! Feel like I'm in a Shamanistic ceremony.

Excellent! {#Music}
Very nice. Thanks Bill.
Bizarre we can hear  something interesting like this on RP and also a John Cougar tune.
RP is truly amazing but not perfect.

Compare and contrast a Norwegian Sami folk singer to an African-American R&B/soul singer?  Why not "compare and contrast" Edith Piaf to Slayer while you're at it?

Hahahaha I agree
Sounds like David & David were doing the music for this.
Somehow the musici reminds me both of the album Tin Drum by Japan and of the album Brilliant Trees by David Sylvian...

The beginning sounds like the opening music for Battlestar Galactica. I've never been able to listen to it all the way through because it make my dog howl.
Hypnotic !!!  {#Meditate} v{#Good-vibes}

And this is deliciously good. My first time hearing Sami sung.
I think that's the first time I heard Sami, although it was probably featured at the '94 Winter Olympics and I just don't remember.
Started off slow... tapered off in the middle... then ended poorly. I gave it a 5....
It's A Beautiful Day covered by Bjork with a native American backup band...
The cover actually scares me?!?!?
Not my cup of tea.....Monotonous.
No, that's a snowy owl. And this is deliciously good. My first time hearing Sami sung. Thanks RP for showing us yet another far flung corner of the world and supporting those who speak and sing and dream in the 90% of languages that get drowned out in the daily torrent of english, spanish, french, mandarin, arabic, and hindi. Man.....I haven't heard anyone play her ANYWHERE! Hey, is that ManBirdExp on the cover?
Certainly not the worst thing I've ever heard, but I'd be happy never to listen to it again.
One must applaud her for trying but not for the result.

Please, I'm trying to work here, and I'm falling asleep!!!!!
This song may entice me to tune in elsewhere. It is just obnoxious.

Too many others do this genre much better.

4 in the morning is a good time to be awake, however, I would rather listen to Gasparian (moon shines at night).

Well, I liked it...
Is it too much to ask that maybe 1 in 5 songs RP plays have an identifiable melody?
Make it stop!!!

Nice to see that I'm not the only RP fan in Sweden, and what can I say, Mari Rules. This lady has made quite a few interesting songs.
