E always brings the fire to my synapses. Surely one of the highlights of my life was seeing him and his band jam at Shibuya's great Club Quattro back in 2004 or so with a fiery, feisty little Shoko. SUGOI!

Wouldn't call it "nastiness", but certainly not nice and peppy: refers to him dealing with the suicides of a relative, i.e. having to pack up the things left behind and moving on.

It's about the singer  having to clean up and pack the stuff his relative who committed suicide left behind. Based on Mark Everett's personal experience dealing with his sister's suicide.

I think a band can spell its name any way it wants, and if that includes using all lowercase letters, so be it. The same goes for an individual. No "lingual rule" is getting broken, because those rules can't apply to a name. It's your name; spell it however you'd like. As George Carlin said, you can spell your name s-m-i-t-h and pronounce it "Janofski" if you want to.

I recommend Beautiful Freak as his/their most consistent work, but you'll find gems like this on every album. The latest, Blinking Lights and Other Revelations, is also mighty fine. Electro-Shock Blues is regarded by many as somewhat of a downer, so you might want to avoid that one.
