Ridin' down the highway
Goin' to a show
Stop in all the by-ways
Playin' rock 'n' roll
Gettin' robbed
Gettin' stoned
Gettin' beat up
Broken boned
Gettin' had
Gettin' took
I tell you folks
It's harder than it looks

It's a long way to the top
If you wanna rock 'n' roll
It's a long way to the top
If you wanna rock 'n' roll
If you think it's easy doin' one night stands
Try playin' in a rock roll band
It's a long way to the top
If you wanna rock 'n' roll

Hotel, motel
Make you wanna cry
Lady do the hard sell
Know the reason why
Gettin' old
Gettin' grey
Gettin' ripped off
Under-paid
Gettin' sold
Second hand
That's how it goes
Playin' in a band

It's a long way to the top
If you wanna rock 'n' roll
It's a long way to the top
If you wanna rock 'n' roll
If you wanna be a star on stage and scream
Look out it's rough and mean
It's a long way to the top
If you wanna rock 'n' roll

Cheap shots at totally unrelated bands, in different genre, from different generations have no place, except to provocate for no apparent reason.

Cheap Shots sounds like an AC/DC album title!  And I'm sure it would rock and I'd rate at least one of the songs a 9 (like this one is) Rock on and Long Live RP!!

Saw em in '78. I've never seen a guy before or since who can somersault across the stage WHILE play guitar - amazing!

A rather odd comment really. Arcade Fire do what they do. AC/DC do or did what they did. One could say that many other bands or singers could use a little DNA of another for whatever reason. I'm a big fan of AC/DC but I also like Arcade Fire. Different genres.
This has me immediately reaching for the volume to crank it up....all the way to 11. Timeless classic.
Wow Bill is rockin it today!

More AC/DC!
Why not?

Bon Scott is the most under rated front man and musician in rock and roll history!  AC/DC is a joke without him as great as Angus is.

They were better with Bon, no doubt.  But a joke without him?  Not buying.

It was Bon's family that urged the band to stay together after his passing.

Angus:  "I remember the first time I had ever heard Brian's (Johnson) name was
from Bon. Bon had mentioned that he had been in England once touring with a band and he had mentioned that Brian had been in a band called Geordie and Bon had said 'Brian Johnson, he was a great rock and roll singer in the style of Little Richard.' And that was Bon's big idol, Little Richard. I think when he saw Brian at that time, to Bon it was 'Well he's a guy that knows what rock and roll is all about.' He mentioned that to us in Australia. I suppose when we decided to continue, Brian was the first name that Malcolm and myself came up with, so we said we should see if we can find him."

Saw them in 1979 opening up for UFO in Toronto! Best concert ever!
awesome classic tune with Bon Scott at his best! I even have an original Australian import of this somewhere
Hmmmm. This does bring up a rather delicate point of rock 'n roll discussion: Did AC/DC ever really even get to a "the top?" I mean, the velvet short pants alone. Who could even with... those. I could only ever look away. Hell, just thinking about 'em makes my ears hurt. And it's not just our olde rockers' universal tinnitus.
It may be a long way to the top but the downhill is soooo worth it!
BAGPIPES!!!!

Great song from a great band...but eclectic?  C'mon.  How about "Down Payment Blues" or "Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution"  Now that's Radio Paradise!

Definition of eclectic:  deriving ideas, style, or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources.  This rock n roll tune is eclectic, and classic too.  Oh, and classical, with that touch of Scottish bag-piping goin' on.

Reminds me of strip club music back in the 70's. Not that I'd know from personal experience...just sayin'.
AC/DC? Finally! Love it. More please?
Never sure if this makes me feel younger or older!

Either way, always dig it, always turn it up. Thank you RP!

Unbearable.
Bagpipes? It sounds more like a guy playing a dog's squeaky toy.

horrible at every level.

Great cover of Thunderstruck followed by AC/DC when they were good. Well played, Bill!

No, I'm not a fan of post-Bon Scott AC/DC but I do like Thunderstruck; a song that surpassed the group who made it. All of these excellent covers prove that.
Solid 8 because of the bagpipes.
Bon Scott is the most under rated front man and musician in rock and roll history!  AC/DC is a joke without him as great as Angus is.
The real thing.  IMHO
Always hated this band. Major buzzkill. Maybe I'll tune in tomorrow, maybe next month
I was never a big AC/DC fan, but I have to admit I like this one quite a bit.

Ok last week it was Cyndi Lauper and now AC/DC??

What in the F is going on here? This is Radio Paradise and suddenly I don't feel i'm in paradise anymore!

This is rock.

Oh, god, this is HILARIOUS! So bad, it's actually a parody of itself. I had to make sure this wasn't really a Spinal Tap song.

20,000 days is 54 years & 290 days
Woo - Hoo,
AC/DC on RP - 1st time i've heard them on here in the 5 years i've been a listener. Marvelous!
We usually have 'Planet Rock' on at work on a Friday, and RP on Mon to Thurs.
I had to check what day it was! - thanks for making me think it was Friday on a Tuesday!!
just kidding (!)
cheers

Me and my roommate used to try to teach ourselves guitars on these albums.
He actually went on to play in a band. I didn't.

Wow, I couldn't disagree more.  I thought Bon Scott led AC/DC was one of the finest blues rock n roll groups of all time.  What a great front man.  Back in Black was a good album and then they died to me.{#Lol}  This is a great album BTW.

this depends on if you are talking about the new stuff or old stuff, for both these bands.
I don't really think I've liked AC/DC since their first album with the new singer. This song was back when they were good.

Same with BS, great stuff right up until an album or 2 after Ozzy left, and it still holds up, imo. I still listen to their old stuff.
That last album was pretty good though.
Well I recall how AC/DC burst onto the scene in my High School years, and by '78 or '79 they were as likely to be wedged into my Audiovox 8-track deck in my '70 Cutlass as The Cars, Led Zep, The Who or Cheap Trick. Hard to beat sing-along jams with a buzz on!

Nope. Same here. For some reason I really like the originality of the bagpipe(?) solo. Must be enjoyed at fairly high volume though :-)

Great wake-up tune!!!!....way to go, Bill!
Good to have something of the real AC/DC after this sort of version by Kathleen Edwards of "Money Talks". Even if this is one of the less exciting AC/DC songs though ...
EPIC.

Awesome tune... rock'n'roll at its best
10 doesn't even begin to cut it! I love love love just dancing in the living room to this song. And the bag pipes....awesome...

Does this band do anything in any other key, ever?

Awesome to hear some Bon Scott-era AC/DC here.  I think the band really went downhill after the loss of Scott.

I wish I could agree. I've been there and it's not the least bit silly - and no highway is required. It may have been hell-on-earth, but that was close enough for me!
