stars leave the morning
sleep clouds my view
Don't let them come round here
And call to you
I didn't notice
It's a crime too few
I didn't notice
It's a crime to fear

I tried to sleep alone
But I couldn't do it
You could be sitting next to me
I wouldn't know it
If I told you you were wrong
I don't remember saying it
I don't remember saying it

I'll be a shadow
In the cedar room
leave just a memory
Alone with you
I didn't see that
It's a call too soon
I couldn't see that
It's a call to you

And I tried to sleep alone
But I couldn't do it
You could be sitting next to me
And I wouldn't know it
If I told you you were wrong
I don't remember saying it
I don't remember saying it

Similar drum sound but it's a very different drum beat.  The LZ tune has more syncopation.

Seems Doves are back on the menu again. I heartily approve. Others note that recognizable fragments of other compositions by other artists weave through their compositions. It's obvious, but in a good way. I would like for this band to reassemble, but probably not destined to happen.
"if it keeps on rainin' ..." oh woops! its something quite different, unlikely I'll remember this song and band for several decades

Yes, I also heard the Beatles' "It's All Too Much"...!
Treasure of the day. Never heard of these guys but gets an 8 right out the gate on my plate!
Trippy, ambient, almost trance like.

Not sure anybody else could pull this off but the Doves do.

Truly enjoyed the discordant beginning.  Reminded me of a distant train whistle.
this is simply a beautiful song.
In the mood. 7 > 8. Love the anthemic progression.
Sounds like they have been influenced by Snow Patrol.
Now is really great... not that I noticed before, how have I missed this song in a playlist. Really great.

can't say why, but this seems like a sad song to me.
a timely romp
Trumped by a whisker & cut loose with Doles of doves.
And hardest word to say is thank you.

I'm about to check out for the night, but based on this song and previous selections, I think I'll leave RP up, turned down low (so I don't offend my brother) - I really could use some sleep, after a week of intermittent insanity at inhuman hours. Not to say that this music is boring - rather, to say that it's relaxing, soothing, and a really great comfort zone for me in a world that makes no sense at all.

Thank you, Bill and Rebecca - you work wonders.

What a low end on this one. {#Cool}

Hypnotic, very enjoyable tune.
I enjoyed this track very much.
LOL .. I was avoiding The Cure's Boy's Don't Cry and PSD gave me to The Cedar Room.  It ends and brings me back to normal play and I'm back in The Cedar Room.  Not complaining.  8

Can't wait to see them again! The last time they came I was recovering from a middle ear infection and was experiencing blurred double vision, vertigo and slight nausea during the entire show. It sounds better than it felt, believe me.

And it was still one of the best shows I've seen!

Agree! I guess the creative well ran dry, I just wish they would stop now because they are nothing but irritating these days.{#Sad}
Nice! :D

Yup Bill is on fire over the a last hour. Mind you I have managed to sneak the volume up louder than usual and it always sounds better that way. The baby hasn't noticed yet....

You should buy the Last Broadcast, one of the better albums of this century. Really has a great flow to it.

This CD was on heavy rotation in my home 5 years ago and was probably my favorite album of that year. Beginning to end, just a fantastic recording.
"Don't never say yeah"?! Doesn't he realize he's employing a double negative?! I'll bet these guys have a hard time getting up in the morning.

It's a long time since I've heard someone talk about Metal Machine Music. I've said that to people and they have no idea what I'm talking about! Have you ever listened to it right through, double album, whew? It's just a tad alternative, hahaha!
Please, please no more...it just drones on and on and no and no and no and no.....ahhhhhh

I get the feeling that they\'re influenced somehow by Ministry. But the Cure too. Hmm..... I gave it an 8 just for that intro noise. Excellent!
Awesome... 8  9 :daisy:
dunno if if I like this one, but the transition from Boys Don\'t Cry was amazing!
This goes on just a little too long.

I feel like I'm in an acid-induced dream trip. And I've never done acid (or anything else, for that matter). Pretty enjoyable.
Could they slow this down a bit? Just too snappy for me.
I've never heard this before, pretty catchy. Like the heavy beat and lush instrumentation.
this gives me a headache.

Nope. But I can see where you're coming from. The bass drum in this is much more of a 4/4 standard rock beat than WTLB.

With a name like "Doves" you'd expect their music to fly. However, this song just plods along heavily. Sound is pretty generic as well. I like the "gritty Coldplay" comment. More like gritty spinach to me.
