I wouldn't know of her it wasn't for Kate Bush naming her on  "Blow away" along with Buddy Holly, Sid Vicious and others. She's in good company there, and her voice stands out beautifully.

Anyway, how is this different in style, sound, substance than many others of her time: Buffy St. Marie, Joan Baez, Melanie, and others. 
And I like her voice. Lovely tune. Bill said so.

Agreed. Sandy can hold her own amongst those who got more attention (Joni, Joan, etc., all of whom I love as well.) I would love to know what she'd be doing musically if she had been on this earth a bit longer.

I love this song. We had it years ago on a demonstration record put out by a stereo company, and I had forgotten who had done it, but the song stuck in my mind. Then a few years ago, there was a Rite Aid commercial that had a guitar intro a lot like this one, and I was reminded of the tune. I finally tracked it down and bought a cd with the song on it.

Aaah civilisation! Sandy, in my view has one of THE most ravishingly beautiful & magisterial female voices. Sadly though folks, seems we're firmly outnumbered on RP. A ravishingly beautiful voice - full of majesty - perhaps my absolute favourite female vocalist (sorry Joni) - even if the quality of many of those 60/70's analogue recordings is slightly "muddy" by today's standards.
