All I ever wanted was our love to be true
More than just enough to get me by
I want a love to see me through
I don't need another well-spent night,
Another clever sideways glance
I wanna look my baby in the eye
And know there's nothing left to chance

Well if you're tired of being lonely, beat up and confused
Darling, there's only one thing you can do:
Come to me
Don't be the one who's waiting
Come to me
Babe, I got what you need
Wont you come to me
There won't be no hesitating, babe
I know what you mean to me

I'm gonna hold out for no one
Ain't gonna settle for less
'Cause the kind of love I'm looking for, baby,
You can't fake, you can't finesse
I ain't looking for the kind of man, baby,
Who can't stand a little shaky ground
Who'll give me fire and tenderness
And has got the guts to stick around

Well if you're tired of being lonely, beat up and confused,
Darling, there's only one thing you can-
I got what you want, baby
Oh, and I got what you need
Well if you're tired of being lonely, beat up and confused,
Darling there is only one thing you can do:
Come to me
Be the one who's waiting
Come to me
Ooh, I got what you need
Come to me
There won't be no hesititing, babe
Won't you come to me
I got what you want now, baby
I got what you need
Won't you come
Won't you bring it on home to me
Won't you come
Won't you come on baby, bring it on home to me
Won't you come to me
Bring all of your sweet love home
Won't you come to me

What difference from the last song RP played from the National.
More Bonnie less whining singer/songwriter crap.

Yes, what is it about this lady? Magic.

No shame here.  LOVE Bonnie.  First class performer.  Her music just makes me happy.
Really love the percussion on this one.
Bonnie Raitt is first class. Saw her recently and when she she played solo acoustic she was first class.

Nah, pure class...........but surely not the best track from this fabulous album...........................

Comments for stupid people.
Go GET 'em, Bonnie!!! :motor:
her first album is by far the best work she's ever done......straight ahead roots blues with GREAT slide guitar work. Her later "pop" stuff doesn't do as much for me
Saw her open for Clapton they played a few songs together on slide guitars SWEET!
C'mon folks, face it, Bonnie is unquestionably pop with a R&B patina, but she does it damn well. Stop asking so much, get off the high perch, and just revel. Happy as a pig in....
Some harsh, knee jerk reactions to this artist. Could be insecurity at secretly liking music that oh my gosh was popular at one time. Or, not. I just know there are some musicians that should be appreciated for their musical talent regardless. She's one.

Great vocals, per usual. But I don't like the "giddyup, cowboy" feel to the music .
Well said. Like a previous comment said, a great singer in search of a great song - and this ain't it. All of her songs ain't it.

I agree.
I agree with this agreement. Not sure what I dislike about her. I won't protest others enjoyment of her music, but it does nothing for me.

Lucky thing.

I agree.
This is no Angel From Montgomery. Most of the time Bonnie seems to come up just short of a great song. 3/10.

That Keith Richards appreggiated crunch is everywhere.
I recently saw her in concert in Atlanta. Great show, she still knows how to rock!
She did it to me thirty years ago. She still does it to me today. Um...don't tell my wife. :propeller:
A true artist, a singer, a woman with so much soul it transcends her music, her lyrics.

Okay, but a little too slick and AC (adult contemporary) for my tastes.

Her Live albums always have something about them. Angel from Montgomery duet with John Prine to mention one.
That song has got to be one of my all time favorites. The way she and Prine sound together is amazing!
Oh man, I hope there are still tix for her February show this winter!! :bounce: :guitarist:
Me too, Bonnie!!! Me, too!!!! Great song! :bounce: :sunny:
I love Bonnie Raitt BUT she needs a good song to do her justice, and this ain't it.
The woman can sing
Bonnie!!!!! :drummer:  :music: :motor: I like the "Road Tested" live version much better - as with most of her stuff. Rock on Bonnie! :sunny:
I wanna like her, I just never really do
This may not be her best but she is generally the first artist I mention when I complain about today's stars. Ms Raitt has more soul and talent than everyone on the Billboard Top 100 put together.

Growing old is not for wimps!
:D Bonnie just seems like she enjoys what she does so much it\'s contagious.
Yah, mon...I dig the rasta beat, mon! :p

Agreed, but this is one artist that doesn't seem to do anything very badly. Actually, there is some real nice sounds in the instrumentation in this. I think for once I'm wishing for Bonnie to sit back and let the band take over.
Bonnie can sing to me ANYtime. I just feel like calling her up right now and telling her that. Her voice just gets me all H&B. Is that TMI?
Always loved Ry Cooder\'s band and Keith Richards\' guitar playing and that\'s sort of combined in this song. Lovely, loose, bluesy vocals as well.
B.R., good; song, bad. Your basic filler.
dancin! like it!
Decent, but far from one of her best
Bonnie RULES!
