You have to have Amazon Prime to get it.
After playing three different variants of this game... it is awesome to see a live version of it.
It is quite graphic with the violent parts... but the wife is even hooked on this "mini- series". Which is rare for her.
The unique/ quirky characters in it mimic the ones from the game,
And the music in it is spot on.
Highly recommended.

Just started it and I was really glad it's one of the few shows on Prime not in HDR. Not bad, pretty strange.

The 28-minute long Bluey episode was quite good but I think it shows that the short format is really better for character development and story arc than a potential movie would be. The amount of child and adult stuff they can fit into a 7-minute episode is pretty great.

Just binged Daisy Jones and The Six.  Interesting. But a lot of story gaps that should have been filled over that many episodes. Worth the time to watch though.

First: it has Andrew Scott, so I’m in. His recent Hamlet made me weep with its beauty.

Second: this is a repeatedly remade concept from a book. You might’ve seen the movie with Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Matt Damon. It’s a very good concept.
Third: the author of the novel has a…complex…personal story including being chronically drunk, sexually hyperactive (calling her next lover from the bed of her current one), and blatantly severely anti-Semitic (disappointed in the “semicaust” because it “only” killed six million Jews).

I’m totally surprised that the last little bit of info hasn’t gotten her work cancelled, really.

Fourth: this production is beautifully directed with amazing cinematography. We’re totally enjoying it, about three episodes in.

It took me a while to get into Deadloch. It was teetering on the edge of being over the top and obnoxious. But well worth a watch.

Yes, really like this. The lead actress is in another Australian series about politics and plays a much livelier, if vapid, political operative.

Also great: "Defending the Guilty", a BBC series about an aspiring British barrister who may not be cut out for a cutthroat career in law. Sadly lasted only 1 season due to Covid lockdown. The lead actor is quite talented and has directed a coupla movies to boot.

I didn't include Christians in that list because I think most would also require closed captions - although they may not want them.

I don't know how they can make "Airport," a 90-minute movie with a lot of drama and soap opera in the air and on the ground, into a 7-hour TV show (essentially) that's even more gripping? But they did it. So it's formulaic in that way, and I can accept that. But it's ludicrous how goddam stupid it is sometimes. One line in this trailer is such a clunker when it happens because it runs contrary to the character's style. But a major plot point (might be a spoiler but that's okay because it was a spoiler for me as soon as I saw it) is that passengers were communicating with the ground and the hijackers wanted to stop that, so they shut off the plane's wifi. MAJOR plot point.

Three-and-a-half stars, Joe Bob says check it out.

We just finished watching Season 5 of Luther and bad writing seems to follow Idris Elba around whatever he's in.
