Proclivities' post made me realize that when Danson's in a series, especially a comedy, it's worth checking out.
Yeah, I don't put him with "Hello Larry" Stevenson. Danson has an undercurrent of subversive self-awareness.
? ??
How long have you been carrying that torch for McLean Stevenson? I had to google the reference. He was great in M*A*S*H but it never really worked out for him after that...
Ohmigosh! Meadowlark Lemon in Season 2! Shows up around 51 seconds of this video of the season 2 intro music:
American TV is strewn with great shows that didn't last beyond 1 or 2 seasons. A shame.
I turned on the tv and all I see is reality shows. I live in reality and want some fiction to watch so I can escape life. So... l keep asking for Scotty to beam me up cause thereâs no intelligent life down here, but my communicator doesnât seem to be working. Live long and prosper!
There are some certainties for me in TV though: When one Ted Danson TV series is cancelled he will get a new on the following season (he's had at least ten since Cheers ended - he's like the new-and-improved McLean Stevenson) I am certain that I will never watch "Call Me Kat".
I watched Ted, Zach Galifianakis and Jason Schwartz man in "Bored to Death" while it was on Amazon Prime. Silly but very funny and not at all dark.
Ted was also in "The Good Place", one of the best comedies in the last ten to twenty years.

Has anyone tried to watch "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist"? What a mess. It's supposed to have a zany, over-the-top element (Zoey can hear people's inner thoughts, expressed as involved song-and-dance routines involving many people) but then switches gears into a story about Zoey's dad and his serious neurological illness.
I watched 2-3 episodes of season 1 and then watched some of last night's episode 1 of season 2. The plot line involving her dad had resolved but other mattersâoffice competition, budding romanceâhadn't changed at all. I had no idea what the whole point of the show was and turned it off 2/3rds of the way through episode 1.
It's promoted so heavily it can't be any good.
It feels like two shows mashed together. The main actress (Jane Levy) was really good in "Suburgatory" but mainly she just acts confused and stressed out. Laura Graham was on the show but now her character was written out at the beginning of season 2. Not a good sign.
I watch very little non-PBS TV these days so it was weird to watch a TV drama like"Bull" last night. Everybody was wearing masks which made it hard to connect with the story. The premise of a jury analyst was interesting but the show is pretty tepid and predictable. No thanks.

Ever since the series production shifted from Syfy to Amazon, I don't like it anymore. Starting with Season 4, I find it utterly boring and cheaply made, as compared to the first three seasons. Storybook and graphics painted just aren't what they used to be. I really loved the series first 3 seasons, and the attempted rescue of the series by Amazon didn't do much good, imo.
Yes, it's Aaron Sorkin, so there's some...creativity involved in the story and dialogue. But the Chicago 7 movie was quite entertaining. Recommended it.
And, I recommend re-starting the chant "The Whole World is Watching." It's appropriate.
Binging this on Netflix. Didnât know it existed! Has some similarity to Survivor but without the social aspect, which is good. Simply one person, trying to survive. But food, fire, sickness, injury... etc. Very much enjoying this.
I binged on it last night but thought it was pretty slow. It's hard to find anything good to watch lately - covid 19 has really affected the film industry. Except the pixar type productions. I can't remember the last time I fired up the old blu ray player. Red box has DVDs in 4k now but I've yet to find one in a box near me.
it's a love story man!
character development takes more than 15 mins
us film industry is dying a death from a thousand cuts
