I did click on the link and I know that I misspelled the word as soon as I saw your correction. And I knew the meaning without your needing to educate me about it.
I'm really not the total dumbfuck you think I am. Just because I support Trump.
Why don't you try sticking to points at hand rather than trying to marginalize or browbeat the person you disagree with.
"Why don't you try sticking to points at hand rather than trying to marginalize or browbeat the person you disagree with."
I've marginalized KK in the past because s/he was posting cartoonish crap. I've noticed recently in my decreased visits to this forum that KK's posts have far more substance and focus on the issues being discussed.
As for you: I've been far more respectful of you and your opinions than most people posting here. I have been harsher towards you recently because I see you and diehard Trump fans like you as a serious threat to the state of our country and democracy. You're quite happy AFAICT to let Trump destroy the United States as long as he keeps immigration suppressed and pursues a foolhardy path towards economic nationalism—something the Nazis pursued too btw and for equally illogical reasons.
I will and do get nasty towards people who won't respond to facts that counter their opinions and/or those whose support of Trump does not seem to have grounding in facts or reality in general.
"I'm really not the total dumbfuck you think I am. Just because I support Trump."
I don't think you're dumb. Your life and work experiences have given you savvy and adaptability that academic programs typically never teach. But your continued support of Trump—despite his incompetence that's contributed massively to an unconquered pandemic, a collapsed economy and a deeply divided country—makes me strongly suspect that your political allegiance is going to contribute to the downfall of the United States and yourself. I am not a fan of self-destructive people especially when they drag others down with them.
If you have a notion of how a second term of Trump would unify the country, stop the pandemic and restore widespread economic prosperity here, let's hear it. The man has no real plans only empty, scattershot promises—a new healthcare plan that I'll announce the day after the election! . A huge infrastructure bill that'll fix everything! A vaccine before the election! If Trump wins, it'll just be another four years of blustering, LYING endlessly, threatening people, getting into scandals and doing nothing to help the average American.
AFAICT there is no place in Trump's America for people like you and me. He's just suckering you. I guarantee you that four more years of Trump will leave you worse off than you are today.
I admit the "died/dyed-in-the-wool" issue gnawed at the nerd in me but I shut up about it b/c it's not a huge deal. After you see many instances of "died", though, you say enough. But hey, it's the Internet: we all make typos, grammatical errors, etc. that we normally wouldn't.
Ah, pot calling kettle black. You're a spelling Nazi.
I used the term correctly.
You quibble with the spelling and try to spin my lack of awareness of the term's real meaning.
You really need to ask Hopkins for a tuition refund.
You did use the term correctly.
Not a spelling Nazi. However, if you learn/understand the origin of the term, the correct use of "dyed" in this case gives you a stronger grasp of the term and greater confidence in using it. You'll also gain a greater appreciation of the history of the English language.
Since you apparently did not feel like clicking on the link I provided, I'll post the relevant text below:

The expression "dyed in the wool" refers to a state of steadfastness, especially with respect to one's political, religious or social beliefs. The expression comes from the fact that fabric can be dyed in a number of ways. The woven fabric may be dyed after it is complete, or the threads may be dyed before they are woven. When a color is "dyed in the wool," the wool itself is dyed before being spun into threads, so the colour is least likely to fade or change. (Dyes: Websterâs Quotations, Facts and Phrases. Icon Group International. 2008, p. 344.)
"and try to spin my lack of awareness of the term's real meaning."
No, honey. You apparently thought I was claiming you two were Nazis. I was merely commenting on the fact that you and KK are fanatical and unwavering propagandists for Trump, just as Goebbels was for Hitler.
But congrats on missing the point and making a fool of yourself again! That poor horse.
"You really need to ask Hopkins for a tuition refund."
Gosh, Kurt, should I ask Harvard for a tuition refund too? Northeastern? Tufts? The Russell Group university in England where I studied at for a year? Stanford as well?
Sleep well. And don't forget to keep injecting yourself with bleach!
So in your final assessment, KK and I are died in the wool, Nazis. Check, got it.
Pretty sure you mean "dyed-in-the-wool" . You and others should definitely click on the link I provided for an understanding of where the term came from. It was first used in 1580. See also here.

Kurt, if you insist on making a fool of yourself over and over...and over again, I will let your ride that horse over the cliff as much as you like.
Tells me that you are running out of real meaningful thoughts.
KK has admitted that s/he is getting paid to post here and is unwaveringly pro-Trump. Goebbels was the Nazi's Minister of Propaganda and so believed in Hitler that he killed his children and himself in the Fuhrer's bunker during the final days of WWII. KK and Goebbels strike me as kindred spirits if not actual kin.
"Tells me that you are running out of real meaningful thoughts."
Says the man who has parroted Trump, Limbaugh and others for years.
Anyone who sees this country moving in a positive direction if the current occupant of The White House is reelected is profoundly delusional and in need of professional help.
I'm curious how you would arrive at this view - considering you've not paid any attention to his accomplishments in the first four years.
Trump's accomplishments?
I'm very impressed with:
Trump's failure to come up with a new healthcare plan. Also his hard push to strip Americans of healthcare and coverage for pre-existing conditions.
Trump's impeachment
Trump's getting slapped around by China in trade wars
Trump tearing up the non-proliferation agreement with Iran which motivated Iran to start enriching uranium again
Trump's failure to contain the coronavirus, set up a national testing program. Also his insistence on having the country open up prematurely.
Trump's failure to help prevent our current economic collapse. Mnuchin's done all the heavy lifting.
Trump's all-time WR for lying.
KK, are you by any chance related to Joseph Goebbels?
