From the Old Testament...
2 Kings 2:23-24
Then he (Elisha) went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up by the way, young lads came out from the city and mocked him and said to him, âGo up, you baldhead; go up, you baldhead!â
When he looked behind him and saw them, he cursed them in the name of the Lord. Then two female bears came out of the woods and tore up forty-two lads of their number.
What Happened:
Elisha the prophet was traveling, going about his message-from-God business, when a gang of teenagers surrounded him and started harassing him, yelling insults and calling him âbaldy.â
Proving that the Lord doesnât take mockery lightly, he answered Elishaâs prayer for justice with two angry bears who attacked the group and mauled over 40 of the young men.
If people donât respect the prophet, they wonât respect the message he brings⦠and thatâs a serious, life-or-death matter.
In this story the bearsjustmauled them... but didn't kill them.
TWINSBURG, Ohio (AP) â Skeletal remains found nearly 40 years ago have been identified as those of a guitarist who once played with the R&B group The OâJays and also co-wrote a few of their songs, investigators said.
Authorities used DNA and genealogical research to identify the remains of Frank âFrankieâ Little Jr., which were found in a garbage bag in a wooded area behind a business in Twinsburg in 1982, said Summit County Medical Examiner Lisa Kohler.
His death has now been ruled a homicide, but who killed him remains unknown, she said.
Little, who was born in Cleveland in 1943, played with the the OâJays in the mid-1960s. He was not a founding member of the group that began in Canton, Ohio, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005.
He served in the U.S. Army for two years, including in the Vietnam War, but not much was known about his disappearance, the Akron Beacon Journal reported.
Walter Williams, one of the original members of the OâJays, said Little wrote songs with Eddie Levert, another one of the bandâs founders, according to Twinsburg detective Eric Hendershott, who helped revive the investigation into the remains.
âPart of the mystery is over with, but we have no idea how he got there, how he disappeared or where he lived toward the end of his life,â Hendershott said.
