Think of it as non-violent civil disobedience.    It was bound to happen.  The current president goes out of his way to disrespect and insult people.  He eagerly makes enemies out of what are supposed to be 'friends' and 'allies'.

Otherwise, all your points are well taken.  Frankly, you could trace just about every issue that angers Trump supporters back to Democratic Party policy fails.

Here is why The NY Times stories on Trump’s tax data matter:  Remember part of Trump’s 2016 campaign pitch was that he knew the loopholes because he had used them as a wealthy, elite businessman , so he would be in the best position to close them. A reformed fox guarding the hen house, if you will. Part of draining the swamp. Fast-forward. What has Trump done to even try to do this? He and the Republicans passed a tax “reform” act but it did not touch any of these loopholes. Why not? What happened?

Secondly, these stories call into question his boasts of being a fabulously successful businessman — something else that was central to his 2016 campaign.

We do not know whether Trump has done anything illegal with his tax filings, but that is not the only standard. One commentator last night said that someone with the kind of debt Trump apparently has would have trouble getting a security clearance. Trump, of course, is the elected President so that is not at issue.. Remember, though, that there was some delay in Jarad Kushner getting his security ckearance.

As I said in an earlier post, Trump could choose to clear things up by releasing his tax returns and offering explanations as necessary. That he has fought so long and so hard not to release his returns tells me that there is something within them that he does not want revealed. He is not a man who stands on principle.

Some might even dare to whisper "crooked." Nice bit of projection there, Mr. Trump!

Remember Trump U and the Trump Foundation.

Think of the audience: paunchy men with American flag bandannas and white wife-beaters with a bandolier over each shoulder, knives and rifles coming out of every pocket, looking furtively around for socialist infiltrators or people of color so they can show them what 'Merica's all about.

That's hysterical. Ratcliff and Barr and Graham saying "lookit Hillary! Ignore the concerns about the current President and his nepotism, policy failures, unfulfilled promises, and health issues! Let's talk about something completely unrelated to tonight's debate, mmkay?"

So totally transparent, and irrelevant, that it's an obvious product of this administration pandering to its cult.

Bringing up Hillary now is equivalent to admitting that this administration is a failure. Every time I see "Hillary" I think "Trump's a failure and everyone knows it." So, keep on.

Hillary Hillary Hillary.

I like what someone else suggested: a mocking tone. Trump has shown that he's incapable of resisting an insult, no matter how inane the comeback. "No puppet. You're the puppet!"

So, I would think that a Biden who's above it all, possibly focusing on how much Trump has failed and mocking him for his incompetence - without bothering to respond to the inevitable attacks on Biden's health, brain, Hunter. Why respond or defend against that while on stage?

Continue, at all times, to insult him and his daughter and his son-in-law about how bad a job they've done. (Biden's kid is not part of his office; Trump has hired his daughter and SIL and that makes them fair game, whereas Baron is absolutely not.)

BUT HER EMAILS!

US intel referred Clinton campaign to FBI, alleging it concocted Russia collusion story

US. intelligence developed evidence from Russia in summer 2016 that Hillary Clinton had personally approved a plan to concoct the Russia collusion narrative in an effort to harm Donald Trump and distract from her email scandal, according to an explosive document made public Tuesday by the Director of National Intelligence.

And:

LOCK HER UP. And lock up Brennan and Comey too.

So yes, there's a lot ——A LOT—— of tax avoidance going on and sure it's legal if skeevy. But there's also going to be lots of tax evasion too. So the people whose metric for president is "is it legal?" are going to have to find a way to lower their bar again.

Doubt it. The IRS has been auditing him since 2011. If a dodge like that didn't sneak past the law (and admittedly having massive legal firepower and political pull at your beck & call makes things legal that us mere mortals get hung out to dry for) they'd have burned him for it long ago.

Getting away with something means it was legal...at least for you. Ask Hillary.
