Interesting that Stacey Abrams tweeted that she was disappointed with this and that they should stay and fight.
"Disappointed @MLB will move the All-Star Game, but proud of their stance on voting rights. GA GOP traded economic opportunity for suppression," Abrams wrote on Twitter. "On behalf of PoC targeted by #SB202 to lose votes + now wages, I urge events & productions to come & speak out or stay & fight. #gapol"
Fux News headline for the article where they quoted this tweed was:
"Stacey Abrams applauds MLB's decision to move All-Star Game out of Georgia"
I guess they know their audience won't actually read & comprehend what they wrote.
I agree that they will score runs, but there is no early season starting pitchers probably not until July which will put them in a major hole. Iâm still optimistic and are saying 3rd.
Not so sure about Chaim Bloom cause heâs a stats and computer formula guy and has already gutted the outfield. I prefer a gut feeling over stats and numbers only myself.
I still don't understand why they traded Benintendi so quickly. Maybe he just wanted out. You could see why the Sox were willing to move on from JBJ though: he didn't hit consistently enough. He's an awesome fielder, I gotta say.
Apparently the Dodgers fan group Pantone 294 were sincere when they rented out a billboard near Fenway to thank the Sox for trading Mookie to LA but hey it still burns.

Yup just like I said SOX game postponed to Friday.
From what I can tell this season won't be very memorable for the Olde Towne Team. Sean McAdam, formerly of the Providence Journal and now at Bostonsportsjournal.com , predicts the Sox will finish in 4th place in the AL East. His thumbnail summary:
"4. Red Sox. At the very least, they’ll be more competitive and entertaining. They’ll score plenty of runs, per usual, but the pitching is very much a question mark."
That's been their MO for God knows how long...

Yeah, that's pretty much what I figured too. I've always seen their ticket sales procedures as a riddle wrapped in a mystery shrouded in an enigma. There are no bad seats in Wrigley though and is good for me to see how the other half lives every once and awhile. It's going to be kind of strange in the bleachers anyway at only 20% capacity and assigned seats. I could even end up in right field. That would suck. Right now though I've got beer in the fridge and the Cubs on the tube. Does life get any better?
It does not.
Giants start the season with interleague play. Game time somewhere around midnight.
What's surprising about the tickets at Wrigley is they seem to be reasonably priced, at least compared to similar seats at Coors or SF (I literally have no idea what they call New Candlestick these days. PacBell? 3Com?)
Edit: Over the course of 20 years or so, it's been PacBell Park SBC Park AT&T Park Oracle Park
So each day's single ticket sales page rolls over to buy tix or to Sold Out, but the Sold Out page says "Please note: A limited number of additional seats may become available at a later date. To check for availability, please click the "Buy Now" button below." And lo and behold, some pretty good tickets are there.
So we're going to just have to haunt the site as June 11 gets closer... maybe it'll come together! Probably won't be able to get bleachers though.

There is no rhyme nor reason to ticket pricing that I've been able to discern over the years. Pre-covid there be one or two games a season that would have $10 or $15 seats and others with nothing under $70. Allegedly season ticket holders are being given priority this year with raffles for the rest of us to have a chance. I think they have sold tickets for the first couple of home stands, but I haven't been able to find what they were asking for them. A lot of their web pages have changed their addresses this year and I haven't been able to find the one with all the pricing for all the games if it still exists. The official schedule has the little ticket icon for the first few games, but clicking on them just gets to a message that the game is sold out and to check back later. More tickets mysteriously showing up a week or two before the game for one that has been sold out for months is also a pre-covid feature of the system. I have no idea how and for how much season tickets are resold. $9 does seem pretty low to me, but who knows?
You can apparently still get single game tickets to the Saturday Pirates game, now showing $49 for the nosebleeds.

I just bought a pair of Twins tix for April 13th. I'm elated, almost giddy, to have this step towards a recognizable normalcy—going to a ball game. Twins are limiting attendance to about 10K fans in a 40K park. But hey, it's live ML baseball, (and I am vaxxed!)
Edit: Upper deck, third row, behind home plate. $20 seats, $26 per, after fees.

Some early seats are available in the nosebleeds but they're pretty cheap! $9... is that normal?
