I wish they would release the report on the SOX so we would have something to bitch about on talk radio until opening day on the 4th of July.

From what they've let trickle out thats it's not going to be anywhere as bad as the Astro's involvement.

Without missing a beat Jim Deshaies chimed in "Man, I sure wish we had that back when Yogi was managing".

Red Sox apparently have gotten a bunch of their old players together and formed a Red Sox Classics league. They play 3 games a day all televised on NESN, and they are undefeated. Great to have baseball back. Hoping Manny plays tonight.

I checked this out at NESN's website but the first thing that caught my eye was that Chris Sale is going to have Tommy John surgery. If you're a Boston sports fan, re-runs of the glory years is looking like the only happy entertainment in town.  This pandemic might provide a silver lining after all...

Yah, Betts, Brady, now Sale. Hasn’t been a great month to say the least .

So for lack of anything else to write about, sports pages and mlb.com are doing a LOT of fluff about this star or that journeyman giving money to local charities. Like for (totally random) example, Freddie Freeman gave $125,ooo to food banks, etc. Way to go, Mr. Freeman. That's a whopping 1% of your 2016 paycheck. Hope you'll be okay.

NBA season is over/suspended. Maybe they'll play in a few weeks but probably not.

Now Baseball is going to be looking at a short season. Seattle's moving their home opener to Arizona (probably), San Francisco will abandon its usual preseason game with Oakland but more will surely follow. I predict they'll suspend thru April soon, and reevaluate in a month.

Man, if there was ever a year to have a suckass team, this is it. I would hate to be the Dodgers, making their huge push to finally win it, and have an asterisk forever. Just hate it. Would be too bad, really.

I think they should have a season, no fans in the stands, and just televise the games. Incorporate some new rules, no spitting. Add sanitizer to the rosin bags. Mitts need to be treated with an isopropanol-oil mixture.

Following a call with the 30 clubs, and after consultation with the
Major League Baseball Players Association, Commissioner Robert D.
Manfred Jr. today announced that MLB has decided to suspend Spring
Training games and to delay the start of the 2020 regular season by at
least two weeks due to the national emergency created by the coronavirus
pandemic. This action is being taken in the interests of the safety and
well-being of our players, clubs and our millions of loyal fans.

That's a cool story.  I had a friend who went to Oberlin in the '80s; it has a reputable music conservatory.  Hmm, Rhiannon Giddens graduated from there - I doubt she played baseball there though.

Mr Srsly, sorry for the delayed response - tough week at work so far...

We use Yahoo, go to Yahoo sports/Fantasy/Baseball, that will give you a good overview. PM me with a phone number if you want and we can talk over the weekend and I’ll get you as up to speed as I can. Easier to do that than write a book here.
As for getting players we have a live draft which will be somewhere around #/18 - 19. It’s a snake draft - think NFL.

Same here. Feels like I already put in a week's worth.

I'll peruse the Yahoo stuff (eventually) and get back to you in a PM.
