Yeah, but letâs not get distracted picking on kurtster. Weâve got a big ass problem. Remember that thereâs a vocal minority of the nation that wants this to be happening. Until it turns on them, of course.
Iâve been suggesting that, in lieu of actually throwing balloons filled with bleach or ammonia at these Nazis - the ones in camo with automatic weapons terrorizing and kidnapping and killing American citizens so, yes, they deserve a real retaliation with a real threat that they understand more than a simple meme - people should at least be hosing them down with sprinklers so the Minnesota winter has its way with them.
I'm still waiting on the uprising of all those guys saying "we need our automatic weapons to protect us from tyranny". As you said, it only matters when the aggression is pointed toward them. They care nothing about the oppression of others (in fact, they seem to enjoy it). But there will come a time when they kick in the door of someone who is prepared. I'm really surprised it hasn't happened yet. That person will die, but it will make a statement.

Watch the video from today. First they assault this man mercilessly, then THEY MURDER HIM. Why are masked men in camouflage with noise suppressors on automatic weapons invading American cities and provoking violence where there was none?

You can also be for more immigration controls.
But the government cannot ignore its role in this - ineffective immigration policy - and now decide that the good human beings who have been in this country for years/decades - raising families and contributing to this country in so many ways - need to be round up like cattle...or worse.
Disarm ICE. No guns. No tasers. No pepper balls. No tear gas. No body armor. No military uniforms. NO MASKS. No immunity. ID and badge displayed at all times. Then send them into American cities to do their jobs. If they need support, they can get a properly signed warrant and call the state police or the local cops for assistance. Like any process server.
See how they interact with the public they're supposed to be serving then.
It was a riot, no arguments. It was wrong. I said that from the very beginning.
The only thing have I ever said that it was not is that it was not an insurrection.
Amazing how well and how long you can keep your head in the sand. Trump was heavily involved in a number of actions and plans to override or cast out the free and fair election results and keep himself in power. That is an insurrection.
The storming of the Capitol Building on January 6 was only one part of the insurrection plot. Trump was involved with several plans to get rid of the Electoral College results. One of the plans was to create such chaos at the Capitol on January 6 that the formal counting of EC votes could not take place. Apparently there were yammerheads in Trump's circle who thought that disruption alone would cast doubt onto the validity of the vote or render the EC vote null and void.
Another plan was to have members of Congress challenge EC vote counts in battleground states. The hope was to have the courts decide that the EC vote was compromised or false and throw the election of the president to the House of Representatives.
Trump was also personally involved in the creation of alternate EC voters in crucial states. Those slates of EC voters were loyal to Trump.
The best advice I can give you, Kurt, is never try to represent yourself in court. You would get crushed.
an act or instance of revolting against civil authority or an established government
An insurrection is generally considered a violent uprising or rebellion by a group of citizens against their government or established authority, aiming to overthrow or obstruct its laws and processes, as defined in U.S. Code and debated under the 14th Amendment. Legally, it involves using force or threats of force by a group to hinder the execution of the Constitution or federal laws, with penalties including fines, imprisonment, and disqualification from holding office. Key Elements of an Insurrection
Group Action: Involves multiple people rather than a single individual.
Use of Force: Manifests through public use or threat of violence.
Intent: Aims to oppose, obstruct, or overthrow the government's constitutional authority or laws.
Distinction from Sedition: While sedition is the incitement to rebellion, insurrection involves the actual violent acts of rebellion itself.
U.S. Legal Context
18 U.S.C. § 2383: This federal law prohibits inciting, assisting, or participating in rebellion against the U.S., with penalties including imprisonment and future disqualification from public office.
14th Amendment, Section 3: Disqualifies individuals who have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the U.S. after taking an oath to support the Constitution from holding federal or state office.
