...... We're in the process of expanding the Mellow Mix playlist, and decreasing the focus on a group of over-represented artists (including Ms. Mitchell). However, I still think she's one of the most creative & interesting artists of the past 50 years â so you will definitely continue to hear her.
Yes.
This is true whether you own her entire catalogue or start slapping for the skip button or sit somewhere in between. Her influence should not be underestimated.

I have all her albums & cover quite a few of her songs on guitar... Cold Blue Steel & Sweet Fire being my fav. She has mad acoustic guitar skills, all kinds of open tunings, challenging and fun. Sheâs covered the a lot of territory from folk to rock to jazz. She wrote Woodstock for FSMs sake. My favorite female artist since around 72.
Donât hate me because I love beautiful music.
Thank goodness for Google because I didn't know what you said. Now I know.

I do like that hissing of summer lawns or whatever song it is that has a low rating
Really, 7 plays of Joni Mitchel in the past 24 hours. Surely there must be many other - unplayed and probably more agreeable - mellow artists in RP's database...

Twisted isn't one she wrote. The tune was an old jazz number by Wardell Gray and Annie Ross of Lambert Hendricks and Ross came up with the lyrics back in the 50s
I stand corrected. It was merely poor taste to record it.
Joni was a LH&R fan and Annie was having a lot of financial difficulties around that time. Probably just wanted to get her some royalty checks.

& her version is WAY better than many I've heard. Bette Midler's for example.....
She does have her turkeys, but I always maintain that anyone that doesn't write some shitty songs isn't taking enough risks. Ok, that only applies to people who can write good songs. An English prof friend of mine used to rail against the banal lyrics she wrote for Goodbye Pork Pie Hat. But that was the start of her really getting into jazzy stuff. Twisted really makes me cringe.
