Yeah, those "webp" or "webm" files don't seem to work and you usually can't even save them as JPGs or GIFs either.

Is it that more sites are preventing this kind of thing or is it a limitation of the new site? Is there a way to do this reliably?

Right click (or CTRL + click) on the image you wish to post and select "copy URL" or "copy image location", then get your cursor in the post and paste that URL into your post - under any written comments.    Dragging images from other sites has always seemed problematic to me, also many users tried to drag them from their own computers, which has never worked.

How do you post pictures here? Seems it's only possible to post video clips. On the Legacy site all the options are available.

Just paste the URL; no need to do anything else. You can resize the image if you want by clicking it, then dragging from the lower right corner.

By the way and this is not a criticism as much as an aviso: We recycle threads here. Some forums get all excited if you go off topic but not so much here. So rather than start a new topic, you can just ask questions like this in a photography or another relevant thread that already exists.

Thanks for replying, but I meant .jpg - I know to resize.

It's a good idea to recycle threads, but I find it a little difficult sometimes to find a thread that fits, and you have to sift through a lot of threads. Will keep it in mind, though. :)

Your photo has to be hosted on another website, you can't just paste it in here.

You get bonus points for resurrecting really old threads that are somewhat related to what you are trying to post.

Hello, :-) Hope you managed to get that car washed and the bin emptied ;-)

I don't know how to post a picture that's on your computer. I think you need to upload it somewhere where it will have a url and then paste the url in the post. I anybody knows, I'd be interested too by the way. Sorry I can't help.

Ha ha, I'm glad you enjoyed that!

To post pictures, it seems you have to upload them to a photo hosting site. There are lots of those sites - try doing a search. Good luck! :)
