I don't think so, nor how to balance a budget...but that seems to apply to anyone in politics these days.

She's got my attention.  Pretty much none of the other candidates do at this point. I was interested in Julian Castro early on, he's got a big climb up ahead of him.

Just my take (not in ranked order):

Warren: Smart, qualified, passionate about the right issues, fearless. A woman, which I believe we are ready for & need, she could be the one.

Sanders:  Had his moment, missed it. Seems too angry all the time, trigger-happy on dissing the other candidates. Likes to present himself as a non-politician, Independent, meanwhile plays hard-ball politics with the best of them (or worst). Won't commit to being a Democrat but runs in the Democratic race, can't have it both ways, not feeling the burn.

Biden: Also had his moment (twice).  Smart, decent Senator & VP. May be leading early, I predict he'll be dropping soon.

Booker: Smart guy, but not a standout. Can't figure out what he's really about.

Castro: I really like him & his ideas. Finding his voice. Likely to move up in the polls, but probably too early for him, maybe 4-8 years away.

Buttigieg: Interesting he's up near the top. Don't see him staying there, not enough experience. A military veteran. Watch him in the future.

Harris:  Came out on top early, couldn't sustain. Not likely to pick up steam. Not feeling she's being authentic enough.

Klbuchar: Have always like her, great ideas, good communication. Seem stuck in neutral, she needs to make a move soon or will be lost in the crowd.

O/Rourke:  As they say in Texas, all hat & no cattle. Comes off like a side-show barker. Seems to be looking for some bumper sticker that will stick. Nope.

Everyone else:  If I have to Google who you are....enjoy your 15 minutes.

She was a Harvard Law professor focusing in contract, commercial and bankruptcy laws and was a driving force in the creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau so yeah, I'm pretty sure she understands both concepts.

Just finished watching the debate—a bit chaotic but exciting and informative.

I was so hoping that Biden was just taking one for the team: popping his head up from the foxhole and drawing fire, while the rest of the candidates slip away without too much attention until they'd sorted out who was really running...

Looks like the DNC and Wall Street have made up their minds and Warren is the chosen one this year which if you are a true progressive should give you pause.  Congrats to her I guess, but I wouldn't wish my worst enemy to be her for the next year or so; she is going to have to suck up to the left and battle the Donald at the same time and neither of those propositions will be pleasant, but hey the lust for power will drive her through like the rest.  All of these people were born for it.

Warren is sharp and articulate.  I am a little concerned that she is too ambitious in her expressed desire to radically expand the US welfare state.

In my view Democrats should stay away from free college tuition (for a bunch of reasons) and focus on universal single payer medical care.

But perhaps she has to make ambitious promises in order to get elected?

Trump is going to leave a far more indebted US federal government. Double national gasoline taxes and there might be a little more fiscal room to play with.  But then ramping up excise/green/Pigouvian/carbon taxes on gasoline and diesel would be the political kiss of death, no cierto?.

I agree and I think it boils down to something simple like the lack of reading and educating ourselves on not only the process but the candidates.  People don't want to research and do their homework as an informed voter.  They listen to the rhetoric on their tv sets and, radios and now social media and show up at the polling booths to mark an X next to someone's name that they either recognize or rely on someone that was the loudest and made the most sense according to their values.
We stopped caring about one another.  It's all about me and my needs at that particular time.

I would not wish that on my worst enemy.

I have to live with her in this state when she decides to show up when she's not hawking her book.
