LOVE that man John Prine (one line of his that chases away any negative moment: "That topless dancer had something up her sleeve..." : )

Well, I'm trying to have comfort imagining John in his youth, "fishin' and whistlin' in heaven"....

With you. I'm just re-introduced to prayer and I pray for each and every one of you.
Alas, it was his time. It is a sad day.
John Prine, Who Chronicled the Human Condition in Song, Dies at 73A folk singer and songwriter with a raspy voice and an offbeat humor, he was revered by his peers, including Bob Dylan.

His wife returned home (with John? I'm not clear on that) from Europe with the disease (again, I haven't investigated whether she was symptomatic at the time), and is recovered. She posted this morning that he is stable.
That's better news.

That is very sad news. Prine was a tobacco smoker for much of his adult life, if I recall, so this could be a tough struggle. I played John Prine obsessively in the early 1970s. Many of my high school friends were huge fans. (These friends all played instruments.) I used to think of John Prine as somebody who epitomized what was truly great about the USA.
