That is so cool!
The temps are dropping here big time this coming Wednesday... down to the mid 90's during the day. And into the low 70's at night!
Can snow be far off?

Yes. Yes it can.
Dew Point today was 78 degrees.
And I had to work on my truck most of the day in the garage.
The wife said I couldn't bring it into the air conditioned house.

Theoretically you live in the desert.

I didn't learn about dew points until I moved back east.

Was no need to know in SoCal back then.  They never really got all that high except along the coast but it is cooler there so it is not that much of a factor there.

Here it's been in the mid 80's with the dew points in the upper 50's to low 60's at worst.

AQI is 173 (“unhealthy” range)  and it’s 91F out there. Glad I can hide from the wildfires indoors. Have 10 of next 14 days scheduled for work but can do it all by tele.

Absolutely miserable around here.
With dew points in the low 70's and temps real close to 11o or higher.
This morning going to work we had low clouds before sunrise and it was 93 F.
Then it was overcast soon after from the tops of old thunderstorms that never materialized here.
We will outperform the southern States in stickiness.

Still waiting on the other shoe to drop.  Here it is August and we have not even hit triple digits and have only had a few days in the mid 90s. High today is only 91, I cannot recall it being that cool in August before.  Veritable cold spell.

What makes it even more unusual is the humidity has not been that bad.  A human can actually survive outside when normally this time of the year it is not recommended.  Have been speaking with those in other parts of the country and in particular the midwest has been reporting that they are getting our usual summer weather.  Polar shift?

Yeah, I'm quite a ways north of you.  It's been in the mid-to-high 90s with high humidity here for most of the last 3 weeks, followed by thunder storms some evenings (one intense one a few nights ago): about normal July for this part of NC.  There's usually a little break (80s) here and there - that hasn't happened yet.  I was down near Beaufort, SC (St. Helena Island) about a month ago; it was quite hot and humid there at that time.  But it's always humid around there as you know - it's essentially a swamp.
Now this hurricane is headed toward Miami and the rest of Florida's east coast - it's expected to show up at the NC coast later in the week.
