The weather we are expecting tonight will blow the ducks right off the lake if it comes in as expected.
Our first winter storm and it looks like a nasty one too.
Dogs cleverly hunkered down in the kitchen , the chickens buried in to the back of their pens, god knows where our sheep are , down the valley maybe?

from my news feed...

Good Afternoon!

A cold front has moved through South Florida and we will see slightly cooler weather this afternoon with highs in the lower 80s.  A few showers are possible as well as gusty wind this afternoon behind the front.  There is a moderate risk of rip currents along the coast and the potential for minor coastal flooding at high tide.  Wind will shift to the east and  tonight and tomorrow ahead of our next frontal system, bringing rising rain chances tomorrow and Friday.  A secondary front will move in Friday and by Saturday, the coolest air of the season will move… read more

The first thought of all the 4X4 off-road enthusiasts..... Where is the snorkle?

I think we got hit by a hard rain from the same weather system.  It has been a wet summer here in BC's "desert".

Right.  Just like you fold up your vacuum cleaner and put it away in the closet.

OTOH, this pushes my deck staining back another week.

We had some highly localized dumping here yesterday. It was really intense and it happened twice.. One of the local weather monitors was showing  4+ inches of rain in just over an hour before the second wave hit. They shut down marine view drive in three different places.

Yeah, we don't really get that kind of rain here and the infrastructure didn't take it well.   And 2 days ago we had the lightning storm with 2200+ strikes in 3 hours.
