I see many headlines like this; particularly in local news: Crossing guard killed after saving kids from speeding car The tense bothers me. This reads as if he was killed after saving the kids. Wouldn't it be more correct to say: Crossing guard killed saving kids from speeding car?

Yeah, I wish she'd given more of the sort of examples that many of us have to see or hear all the time - awful corporate terms like monetize, synergize, ideate, actionable, leverage (as a verb), incentivize, etc...

My favorite is The Mission Statement in which they do all of the above...
