My sister's house burned down two days ago. They lost everything. They are being helped by the red cross. Luckily everything was insured but they lived there for 30+ years and there are so many things that just can't be replaced. At least no one was injured. My sis had some smoke inhalation compounded by COPD.  Nothing was saved just the clothes on their backs. I feel so sad and helpless.  I think they'll stay in an extended-stay hotel until they can think straight and make plans. We're all in shock. Please send good vibes to Judie and James. Thanks.

NOT a victimless crime; I'm not advocating one way or the other there, just sad that it's ended up this way.

Yeah, it's truly sad. Plus, does the punishment fit the crime/victim? It can't be a bad thing that he can just do with the excuse that he's slow - but putting him in prison is also something we shouldn't be doing. Without the cameras, putting him to work seems like a better outcome than taking him out of the workforce, isolating him, putting him where gangs can influence him, and then - in a few years - he's even more unable to get along in "normal" society.

Putting people in prison is just such a counterproductive thing, except in cases of violence.

Right. And I would be willing to say he was never a danger to anyone, but that's small comfort to the victims. Maybe he won't go to prison; it's in the early stages. We have facilities he'd do well in.

That's too bad. We have a tree the kids used to jump over.

No way they can do that now. {#Good-vibes}

Poor pubby. Maybe try putting it on well before the storm so the shirt doesn't upset her more.

Yeah, the storm yesterday was unexpected, and blew up quickly. I plan on putting the shirt on her sometimes on clear, calm days, and even feed her dinner while she's wearing it. The hail yesterday really freaked her out. Tin roof and all.

I had a dog once exactly like that and my heart hurts now because looking back
I remember that helpless feeling and often being frustrated and insensitive to her. She almost hurt herself several times over her life and I don't think I understood how terrified she was.
You've come a long way with her and I think you're awesome for loving her like you do. I'm sure it's in your frustration zone too.
