I did that in a car accident; slipped out from under the shoulder strap (Opel engineering) and hit my chin on the dash. Same path to recovery. Just tells us how durable we really are... and how unlucky/hard that kid hit his head...

Indeed.

Keep us posted if you don't mind.

So sad when that happens. It's happened about 1/2 dozen times in this area just the last couple years. {#Meditate}

Rough day on the ol' facebook today. A high school classmate's obit showed up; she was one of the good ones. And a guy I worked closely with for a couple of years, his son's in critical condition, details unknown, a brain injury which frankly sounds unsurvivable.

Oh man. {#Meditate}

My son did a faceplant rollerblading last week. Caught a rut in the road. Hit his chin pretty hard. After x-rays and MRI, no broken or fractured bones but stretched tendons in his jaw. He could barely open his mouth. He's just slowly getting back to eating solids. He was lucky, could have been worse.

Sorry, Scott. So tragic when injuries happen that could have been, at least, easily minimized with proper precaution. Sending peaceful JuJu to you all.

Here's a stock photo of parents reacting to something amazing their baby did:

Now put those same expressions on Mom & Dad but they're reacting to their injured son, 2 days after a craniotomy and still on a ventilator, moving his toes on command. Pretty good news.

=========================

I feel like I should throw out a disclaimer here... Steve and I haven't seen each other in decades. He was General Manager of the college radio station when I was PD there. It's thru Facebook that we're even in contact at all these days, so this is all a little voyeuristic of me now. I just wanted to give you all one last update and I'll do it again if there's a major change, but the parents are strong and dad's raging mad and probably feeling all sorts of other things, but is posting some sad/angry rants about not wearing helmets. But they're settling in for a marathon, much like having a newborn, I think.

Skateboarding. The boy's fb profile shows him flying off some steps, no helmet. I'll vent my frustration here, not there, but JESUS.
