A lot of the tracks in the middle had a nice old timey feel to them. Put me in that same frame of mind.
Loved the Wilco track
Loved the Pinback track even more, who are they?
Hong Kong Cemetery was a quirky dirge wasn't it?
Deep stuff from the Black Crowes, nice find there

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah
A Johnny Cash song I've never heard before, don't come across those every day.
The Shaggs had a funny basement/garage band sound
Really enjoyed the horns and background singers on Walk Away
That was a nice trip to Hawaii right there.
I really dug the Eno, new wave meets progressive
Erin Rae went down nice and easy

Nice work so far SirD!

There is a reason for that.  A lot of those songs came from this wonderful collection and documentary that Jack White and T Bone Burnett helped organize:

And finally as we spend more time at home, the demographic of our club is middle aged white dudes so I made a mix of songs from our roots so to speak.  Per usual I tried to avoid ubiquity so for the most part I chose cuts that are not part of Clear Channels daily play list for their Fox classic rock stations.   Exception being Led Zepplin, but it's freekin Zepplin who cares?

RIP Russ.

Now down to business.  Because of the lengthy time it will take to listen to all of those cds, do you want me to go ahead and post the songlist or wait an even longer time to give you a chance to give them all at least a run through?

I'm all for it. I'm spending my listening time putting together my next mix so it will be a while before I get thru the stack but it's always nice to have a reference when I hear something I like.

That's sad news indeed. I regret never getting together with him face to face, he lived only a handful of towns away from me. I will be queuing up some of mixes in his honor,  Russ will be missed.

He was a good sort and will be missed.
