When I looked at the artist lineup I wondered how Dylan made it into this cast of unknowns (to me anyway). Where do you find these guys? My take on the mix

Rachel Goodrich - sounded like the Ditty Bops to me, heard on RP from time to time
The Wiyos - Now that was one zippy tune
Sunshine - The only song on the mix I knew, and if I'm not mistaken you turned us on to this in another mix (Sun, Moon probably). Anyway, GREAT song!
Vespers - Banjos and Women, not your everyday mix. I'd love to see them live, bet they put on a stellar show
The Nude Party - A new political party maybe? LOL. Good philosophy in this song, kinda reminded me of Lou Reed
Allison and the Ancient Eyes - catchy little tune here
Billy Strings - Man this guy can pick those strings can't he?

Overall a good mix of new stuff. Hope the Bomb did it's job.

When I finished making dinner to the WTEL disc I put off listening to the love bomb for a couple of days, which was a pity—that disc has a lot going on that was new to me. In fact I was only familiar with the Dylan tune, but not the live version you included. That disc's going to get some more play! It even makes up for making me listen to Yoko Ono.

Even the first one wasn't without redeeming value. It reminded me of high school, when us music geeks would compete to introduce each other to the weirdest music. This disc would have won, hands down.

A couple I'll listen to again in particular:

10. Frank Sinatra..................................Miss Kittin

13. Chin Chin & Muck Muck..........................Devendra Banhart (this reminded me of Beck for some reason)

Wanted to like the Neutral Milk Hotel but...couldn't quite.

                Happy Happy Joy Joy

Loved the overall blend and vibe of this mix! A couple standouts:

11. Close My Eyes.........................................Vespers

Might question the appropriateness for the purpose, but a damned fine song. Also worth mentioning:

16. Snakeskin.............................................Deerhunter

20. Isis (Live)...........................................Bob Dylan

21. Turmoil and Tinfoil...................................Billy Strings
Bluesy bluegrass! Need to check out more of this.

Yea after listening to the lyrics of the Vespers track, I questioned whether to include it or not, but the music is so rockin and uplifting I decided to go ahead.  I hope she did not take it wrong, music is way more important than lyrics anyway.
Oh and as for Billy Strings, yes you do need to check out more of his  work.    He is the new generation's Sam Bush, Emmanuel whoever you think of as the great acoustic guitar virtuosos.  This guy is the real deal.

Yes, it is actually Velvet.  I do agree it is way too long and I debated whether to put this one on there because of that, but there has always been something that fascinated me about this song and I can actually listen to the whole thing!{#Eek}  I know a lot of people turn their nose up to Lou Reed's guitar playing, but I love it.{#Bananajam}

Want to get my review in on the WTF mix, I'm still working thru the Love Bomb a second time and will hit that later.

You were correct in the first reaction, I was totally thinking what the hell was that I just listened to, totally off the wall. My second time thru I got a better feel for it and had some thoughts along the way.

Frank's Wild Years - You had Waits on your last mix and I commented we need to hear more of him. I was thinking singing, not spoken voice but they are similar.
Buds and Shoots - WTF was that?
She Said - Another WTF was that
Curly Toes - I wonder what year this was recorded in and was it considered audio porn at the time (maybe the first?)
Tabletop Joe - More Waits! What is he playing? Milk bottles?
Frank Sinatra - Miss Kittin, not the girl you want to bring home to meet your momma
God in my Bed - WTF?
Holokaftoma - Don't know what she is saying, but she sounds pissed. Or maybe she put a curse on me, not sure. Keeping an eye on my luck since though
Chin Chin & Muck Muck - pretty odd tune but I really like it
Cambridge 69  - This song wouldn't be out of place on A Wizard A True Star
Sister Ray - is that a Velvet Underground demo? or is it really Vekvet Underground? Any hoo, they could have cut it short about 10 minutes.

I like that this is a mix from out of nowhere and will be replayed if anything for the entertainment value (hey listen to this Shit!) Thank you SirD!

Hey, Group:
My apologies for checking in late, but have been under Sickness & Distress since the holidays and actually was admitted to the hospital for 4 days last week with a back injury and other concerns.
I am back home now and on the road to recovery and hope to work on the mixes that are due (the LoveBomb and new round in our Club).

SirD: discs were received a while back and am listening now.

 sirdroseph wrote:
For those receiving: The disk Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy is the love bomb CD so it is safe to play anywhere.  Long time members of club may recognize a couple of the songs from previous releases, but it's not about you now, is it?
{#Lol}
The other cd, give it a test listen before you play in front of anyone else.  It is labeled NSFA (not safe for anywhere) due to adult subject matter and vulgarity.
