Daft Punk? I know it is corny but also a part of our common history. Really! Around the world is so artsy it should be on a playlist. And Pharalls Get Lucky is just perfectly produced. I know RP is about the mid south southern occasional baroque europe and quite a bit of south america/caribic. but really europe/french dance!!

Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night, Nor Tropical Storm stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds. Came in on Tuesday, good thing my mailbox didn't blow away.
It's going down smooth already.

my cat/genre was much bigger than i anticipated

so i did more of a modern take

inspired by a playlist i have setup and fueled by lack of sleep, beer, coffee and what i thought sounded good in the moment

had to forsake the cover art this go round (because work)

at this point i have four other future mcc projects filling in

anyway i hope you all enjoy  {#Cheers}

i apologize for the slight delay

moving about two thousands accounts over at work (and all that goes with it) has been a massive project

of course we were told this will be gravy, no problems at all

You can judge by when you got the mix from the month before. If they guy before you didn't get his out till late in the month you don't want to step on him by going early the next month. Right now you should shoot for late month since we are still looking for Miami's July issue.

Just try to get yours out by the end of your month.  You have a good 6 weeks.

Thanks to all for the reviews. It's nice to know people are listening!

3. John the Revelator - One of my all time favorite songs. Don't know if any version can ever top Blind Willie Johnson, but this one is worthy for the Revelator.

Until Kurt mentioned it I had no idea this was a blues classic. Gonna have to go hear that Blind Willie Johnson version.

10. 50th Psalm - Reminds me of the Bulgarian Women's Choir cept lead singer is a dude huh, huh, huh, huh. Very eerie, which is how I like this music. lol

They're Georgian. Finding some really compelling music out of that country.

14. Babylon is Fallen - Ok, this is not normally my scene, man, but I liked it. Really love the chorus.

An old shape note hymn. John McCutcheon has a knack for digging up great old music.

15 Im Hashem Lo Yivneh Bayls - Sounded Jewish or Lebanese? Do those actually sound alike? I think they do, urge to be hoisted in a chair.

Hebrew, captured at a bar mitzvah party on somebody's cell phone.

18. Wasted Away - Always wondered why they were never bigger. Their sound never really went out of style or anything. Great percussion.

They were a bit of a cult, I think. They had broader goals than just making music. Their first album was a pretty huge hit—two Grammies and 6 million sales. After they broke up they reformed and have kept touring. They've done better overseas than at home; their approach to hiphop is way out of the mainstream now, but hiphop is getting more diverse by the day and maybe they can get a little more attention

This may surprise some of you, but I don't burst into flame when I hear religious music. I'm also not mocking it, I genuinely love this collection. I don't have to believe a word of it to appreciate it as music.

It's mostly Christian since that's the culture I'm embedded in so that's what I mostly hear. I tried to reach a little farther for this but this is ass far as I got before shipping time. I enjoyed the search tho, and if you've got any suggestions I'm open.

In case the image isn't readable here's the track list:

01 Moby.......................................Run On
02 Yusuf......................................I Was Raised I Babylon
03 Ollabelle..................................John the Revelator
04 Special Consensus..........................Land Up In the Air
05 Ben Harper and the Blind Boys of Alabama...I Want to Be Ready
06 The Wailin’ Jennys.........................Glory Bound
07 John Stewart...............................Friend of Jesus
08 Patty Griffin..............................Wade In the Water
09 Gungor.....................................Beautiful Things
10 Archmandrite Serafim & Choir...............50th Psalm
11 Cadence Weapon.............................Night Service
12 Sufjan Stevens.............................For the Widows In Paradise, For the Fatherless In Ypsilanti
13 Emmylou Harris.............................Thanks to You
14 John McCutcheon............................Babylon I Fallen
15 Shira Choir................................Im Hashem Lo Yivneh Bayis
16 Sally Rogers...............................Ecstasy
17 Iron & Wine................................Boy With a Coin
18 Arrested Development.......................Washed Away

Highlights for me:

1. Rain On - Ordinarily I'm not really into Moby, but this was really nice with a very cool old style chorus.

2. I Was Raised in Babylon - So glad he started singing again, just as good as ever.

3. John the Revelator - One of my all time favorite songs. Don't know if any version can ever top Blind Willie Johnson, but this one is worthy for the Revelator.

4. Land up in the air - I am a sucker for the classic high-low. Nice acopella.

5. I Want to be Ready - I love Ben Harper in short stints, very nice gospel.

6. Glory Bound - Just beautiful. That is a tight band.

10. 50th Psalm - Reminds me of the Bulgarian Women's Choir cept lead singer is a dude huh, huh, huh, huh. Very eerie, which is how I like this music. lol

12. Love all Sufjan, one of my favs from him.

13. Thanks to You - Sassy! Well crafted song.

14. Babylon is Fallen - Ok, this is not normally my scene, man, but I liked it. Really love the chorus.

15 Im Hashem Lo Yivneh Bayls - Sounded Jewish or Lebanese? Do those actually sound alike? I think they do, urge to be hoisted in a chair.

17. Boy With A Coin - Local boy from Chapin SC, Lake Murray Country. Personally not a huge fan, but this is the best song I have ever heard from him. That riff would give any decent A & R man a boner.

18. Wasted Away - Always wondered why they were never bigger. Their sound never really went out of style or anything. Great percussion.

Great effort! I feel like I may have gained a few brownie points with the big guy for the listen and it didn't catch fire in my player!

I closed with this because I like the hypnotic flow it has. I'm not crazy about the vocals being so low in the mix—I even fired up Audacity to try and bring them forward, but that was going to take too long and really, that's how they wanted it so who am I to revise it?

If you're curious the lyrics are here, and pretty trippy.

Trippy indeed.
Thanks for those lyrics.
