We spent December just adjacent to this beach. We would go to the roof top with our coffee look for whale spouts to start the day, then finish the day on the rooftop with a cocktail looking for whale spouts. During the day we would walk the beach looking for whale spouts. In between, we ate tacos and drank cold beer. It was awesome. This year is already planned. And the goal is to make it several months a year. This guy plays at a lot of the local spots.
Just watched part one of Michael Palin's visit to North Korea. Wow. Clearly it was hard for him to peel back the propaganda but it looks like you can be reasonably happy there if you live in the city and go all-in for the cult. Can't wait to see part II where he visits the countryside.
If you were watching that on SBS last night haresfur they ran part 2 hard up against the end of 1 without intro. Was very interesting , can't say I would like to live there in North Korea tho. For a start I would be troubled to keep up with them and their obligatory consumption of rice wine.
Yeah, but I was saturated after the first part. Going to watch the second part on demand
Did watch his Himalaya shows. I could see living there if they could just up the oxygen level in the air.

This Jersey Girl packed up a 50sf container with a lifetime of belongings and fled the US to Scotland in October 2019. I am living my dream.
I had a small list of reasons to get the fuck out of America, and at the top of the list was New Jersey's humid, hot summers that got worse and worse every year. The second reason I escaped was Trump and the traitorous republicans. He's a criminal, a bully, a coward, and a cruel chaos-loving psychopath, and he scared the hell out of me. My ancestor, Jared Ingersoll, signed the Declaration of Independence. My ancestors arrived at Plimouth Rock in 1626 for goodness sakes, but I needed to flee!
Of course, criminal healthcare costs, poisoned food, Trump-fed intolerance and hatred, all of that and more caused me to say, adios America, land that I loved.
Scotland isn't perfect, but it's progressive (free menstrual products!), it's affordable (bread costs £1=$1.25), the people are wonderfully accepting (yes, there are assholes!), and the country itself is remarkably beautiful and rich with culture.
I'm living exactly where I want to be and will take my last breath in this, my new country. Plus, I get Radio Paradise here!
Yeah, but are you learning to swear properly and to eat deep-fried anything?

The pants were rolled up beside me. Calgary police stopped by and seemed genuinely shocked.
Gathered everything into my pack, put on my shorts, walked into the downtown, bought a pair of pants, and then had a guy in Tandy Leather help me make a belt. Wore the same belt for a few decades until the buckle no longer worked.
This all ends well with me staying in a friend's house in a rather nice part of town.
More than a couple of times we slept on the roof of the showers / changing rooms building underneath the A1A bridge over Sebastian's Inlet down in Florida in 1970-71.
Otherwise, in my VW Bus in many places, including passed out a few times in the parking area at home. Every time I drove through Flagstaff, Arizona I would spend the night in the Denny's parking lot at the north end of town on old 66. I put 60k on that puppy in its first 18 months.
Now, it is all about living within an hour's drive to the Cleveland Clinic's mothership.
So funny.... when did being near the doctors become more important that adventure, freedom, exploration? I think the third body-part replacement surgery might have done it.
Heading soon to Central Portugal...for good. This place is so f^$ked. Thanks, Commies!
Population almost 60 million. Taxpayers about 3 million, who pay 92% of all the VAT as well, too much of which is lost to outright theft. 17 million on social grants, irregular electricity supply, expropriation without compensation, crumbling infrastructure, cadre deployment, corruption without consequences, prescribed assets, laws that are not conducive to business both big and small. Hence, that tax base shrinking fast as enterprising people move their enterprises elsewhere. Hey, but.....freedom!
All I can remember of that stop is wind and dirt and Geronimo's cell at old Ft Sill. oh yeah. Rot gut tequila. El Toro. Red sombrero cap. Pay as you go...
Pumpkin Island, once won in a poker game still up for sale, any one can loan me AUD 25M ( about USD 20M) and we will let u come stay with us for free .
