Whoops. They were on the "Hollywood Palace".
I remember my dad asking "Why is that guy (Bruce Palmer) playing his guitar (Bass) with his back to the audience?"

I think Bruce Palmer was in jail for marijuana possession at the time of Buffalo Springfield's TV appearance (where they played "Mr. Soul", right? I've seen that performance on YouTube). I think the band's manager filled in for Palmer but for whatever reason didn't want to show his face on TV...

Do you remember it this way? I think there's more than one recorded take for The Hollywood Palace. The host of the show is a goof. Love the way Stephen Stills hams it up while playing.

Somebody wanna spin some plates on sticks now? Loved Ed Sullivan as a kid. Still do. Still a kid...

*edit* In a three channel world a variety show was like drugs. Especially Ed Sullivan's really big shew. I mean, The Beatles? Did you guys see that as kids in front of the old B&W? LOL

I still love it as a older version nowadays.

And The Israelite's too!
Wasn't that the first "Reggae" song to hit the American airwaves?
Or was it "My Boy Lollipop"?

I always liked Sly.
He once owned KROQ- FM Los Angeles back when I listened to it fairly regularly. It was commercial free while he owned it. Quite quirky too!

Wilson Pickett and Duane Allman—"Hey Jude"

I first heard this on a CD called "Rubber Souled"—all covers of Beatles songs. An amazing version. Wilson was one of the best screamers I've ever heard. A shame that the backing vocals by The Sweet Inspirations are drowned out in this recording. One of the singers may have been Cissy Houston, Whitney's mother.
