Yeah, when I left the first company (after 30+ years) I was legally prohibited from returning due to some tax laws.
This second go around, this other company is good-natured but young. They need to find their way and I know I won't be here long enough to enjoy that eventual stability. I'll see if they'll use me as a consultant or something, because the guys/gals in charge really have a good idea - it's just the practicality of implementation, including creating a workforce that'll be satisfied with what's being asked of them, that's the issue now.

And, yes, working again for them will need some really clear boundaries so we're both happy.
They weren't trying to screw me, just assuming that I could take on more time consuming projects for the same pay. I don't need to do that anymore.

well you've certainly got an in demand skill that is easily transferable

could you start a small shop like marcus welby?

and have you ever asked yourself why the dinosaur went extinct?

Pouring through and trying to understand three years' worth of texts and docs regarding the recent history of this place I started working at. Kinda interesting, but the current state of the art is a bit off track from their initial intent. I think that's my job to re-steer things a bit, but the new guy needs to keep his trap shut for a bit.

Looking for the cheapest tickets to fly to Florida for my cousins unexpected funeral this week. And I told her last week I was looking forwards to a family visit on Thanksgiving.

She fell and broke her pelvis in 3 places and it just deteriorated from there in less than a week. She just lost her husband 2 weeks ago from a year and a half battle with esophageal cancer. The family is just devastated. I think she missed loosing her husband and just gave up with a broken heart.

Was a tough week with my programming Final on Tuesday, and then a 19 year old kid at work died from a "heart attack" at home on Wednesday, and then this on Friday.

Sorry to hear, Gene.

Take care.
