It was a kind of experiment because I wasn't sure if colored pencil would work. Most of them are not opaque enough for dark or black paper, and I had no idea about how they would respond on a spray-painted, plastic disk. I have some pencils that are pretty opaque, but there's a waxy build-up so I had to use fixative between layers. They do bring out the relief more than acrylic paint does though.

Not to riff on your excellent piece but it would be so funny if you could do one of those old school rotating window views and the jaw/mouth change to other mouths or teeth or both.

Love the way you introduce and use the subtle relief on different surfaces. Gives a dimensional edge!!

Thanks again. Yeah, "India ink" not a term you hear much these days. I had been doodling from some old clip art I had found a while back when I was looking for urban night scenes for another project, and I came across those sketches.
Thanks. It's been a while since I've painted with India ink. Had to look for my "special" brushes - I feel like I have to dedicate brushes for it because they can't really be used for watercolors after black ink gets in the ferrules.
