The second sentence in your bolded is my observation.

Well it wasn't clear to me where one stopped and the other began. That's why I asked for clarification, but sorry it got your knickers in a twist.

Been living the nightmare since.  Iffen you're really bored you can go to https://www.discogs.com/forum/topic/262

It seems like one out every ten threads is about shipping problems and it has only gotten worse with Brexit for those who live across the pond.

Unless you're doing commercial transactions, use PayPal as much as possible for protection against delays, undelivered, damaged or items not as described issues.

DHL has become the international shipper of last resort or sometimes the only one available depending on the shipping origin.

Good luck.

And FWIW, I spoke briefly with a DHL driver who dropped off a package at the shop a couple of days ago and they cannot find drivers.  The starting pay is $30 hr, Teamsters Union with bennies.  No one can pass the drug test anymore.  This problem applies to most any truck driving job in the states these days.

Is the bold what he said or your inference?

In any case, I would be happy not to have drivers on the road under the influence of any drugs, including marijuana. Of course the problem is that under the influence and testing positive are two different things.

I don't even know why I bothered even answering because all's you do is take me to task for your own personal jollies.

Later.  Much.

Yeah, I know it's a main option in a lot of places. And really, I kind of get the 3rd world attitude, those places are just harder to deal with (our SOB place has a road name and a KM marker, I have no idea how they get things there - our power meter just has the name of the 'neighborhood').

This is here though. It's the same kind of service. I think the driver just has difficulty locating us and puts "business is closed" and bails out.  We are on day 3 now. I've given them my phone number and said "call anytime", and yet...

Maybe some entrepreneur could create something like an, oh, idunno, MailBoxesSOB in your "neighborhood"? Retirement bidness?

DHL is our main option, aside from the post office for sending things to North America unless you want to pay FedEx. Certainly not inexpensive and I'm not convinced they are any better than the post office under normal circumstances. These are not normal times though, and the posties stopped collecting packages for a week so they could put everyone on getting through the backlog.

Not quite immunity, just "protection." That these so-called vaccines are better than nothing is all you can say for them.

to add to that... I don't think CTM's prime motivation was just the typical internet soapbox junkie trying to prove his existence to the universe (but mostly himself) by inciting a reaction from others, though no doubt there was quite a bit of that too.
I actually think he we was truly panicked and felt himself powerless and trapped, which makes me wonder just how much such emotions are powering the whole anti-vax movement.
Sure, a lot of this can be explained by the insecurities of the modern world, stoked by the media and the real or perceived threats facing us.
But such deep fear and panicked reasoning (i.e. no reasoning at all) makes you stop to think a bit.
