Vladimir Putin: Life Coach by Rob Sears

What can the rise and reign of this century's most feared politician teach us about life, work and love? Rob Sears shows how the machinations that enabled Putin to dominate the Kremlin and undermine the United States of America could also help you take control of your mundane life. How would you like to ruin your enemies by sharing compromising material about that time they didn't wash their hands? Or annex territory by claiming the stationery cupboard at work as your personal empire? Fancy hacking democracy at the parent-teacher association to ensure you're a shoo-in for social secretary? Or serving up a cold dish called revenge in a high street restaurant? Filled with stories from Putin's extraordinary time in power, and ideas and illustrations to help you emulate him on a small scale, Vladimir Putin: Life Coach is the ultimate guide to releasing the pseudo-elected, judo black belt, 5D chess-playing autocrat inside each and every one of us.

That works.

Or at least attempted ...

Possibly an unkindness conspiracy...
I have a short story of 3 ravens. Beautifully sad but true, and quite humorous for a Father's Day. I'll try to post it here later...

Edit. Later is now...

I had imagined to reveal a long tale about losing and dark, soul scouring grief. About being blocked out and dammed up.

About being locked up and damned pitiful. I've witnessed so much and remember so much and fight to retain my sanity every single day because
processing brokenness is so very hard. Each of us gets to learn our own version of living through the loss of family, friends, beloved pets, and innocence.
It comes at us tuned to our vulnerabilities.

I just can't tell that tale; can't seem to reveal the visions. Instead I'll tell this short slice about the most mysterious man I ever knew; My Father.
I can see those steely grey eyes now, puzzling over what I'm going to say or do next. I'll spare him, though. I'll not delve so deeply, certainly no more deeply than I already have in these threads, this forum. He had this thing about dignity...
I'll say this; the loss of my Father and the hole it left in me has been very difficult and profound. He himself would characteristically skirt the emotional points and ride the unbound mysteries for all they were worth. He was a simple/incredibly complicated man.

Some years back, while I was living in Colorado my Father told me of a triplet of ravens that had taken up local residence and visited the area around my parents home quite regularly. In fact I saw them myself every visit I made over that period. These guys were huge and he was sure they were ravens and not crows, and named them Nevermore, Nevermind, and Nevertheless. It was an extremely humorous thing for my parents. They loved to tell about the sightings and visits.

Now, ravens aren't so common in this area traditionally, as are crows. They are more known to be found in the western part of the state but are more and more to be found across the state to the coast.

Cut to the chase; Circumstances including the passing of my Mother, and the end of my marriage and life in Colorado, brought me back home to live with my dad.
The ravens were regular visitors. Always three. Nevermore, Nevermind, and Nevertheless.
It gave my dad comfort to look out and see them visiting. He was an avid reader (gosh if I could have only warmed him to the resources of the internet but he wouldn't have it) and admired the corvids for their intelligence and craftiness. We saw local crows regularly drop pecans to the street to break them open and that tickled him to death...

To death...

My Father passed away here, at home, a month to the day after his 84th birthday. It is very difficult to relive all the moments leading up to that day in my mind and heart but it boiled down to last threes. The last three months, the last three days, the last three hours, the last three minutes of his life; the experience changed me; scarred me. I can't really say...
It was a drizzly April morning. The ravens had been in the area all morning.
When they came to retrieve his body only one was around and perched in a tree across the street. Humorously, my sister and I wondered if it were Nevermore, Nevermind, or Nevertheless. If anyone knew my Father, or attempted to (only My Mother really knew him but would tell you she saw only what he allowed her to see)
they would know how amused he would be by the depictions and debate. Either one it could have been, and to say with any certainty would be quite impossible.

Epitaph:
Less frequently in current times, the ravens still visit, and I still can't tell them apart. I'm quite sure that my old Pop can though...
