Not to alarm anyone, but the daughter of my former boss (also a petite young woman) just gave birth to triplets about two months ago. The babies were premies (as was expected), but after they were born, the daughter had an attack of hepatic lipidosis, where the liver regenerates as fat cells instead of liver cells. This is, apparently, not that unusual in the case of multiple births, because of the stress on the mother's internal organs. She was in ICU for two weeks, but has since made a full recovery (and the babies are also progressing nicely). But it was very frightening.

That's the kind of thing that I'm worried about. I'm doing my best to avoid that topic with the family. No doubt they already have some idea. No sense in dwelling on it.

I suppose my point with this is the quality of care at the hospital is of primary import. Make sure she's in good hands (at least as much as you can).

If she were in Chicago rather than Albuquerque, I'd certainly have her in the hospital where many good friends of mine practice. According to her mom, she's in the best facility that Albuquerque. The VA is picking up the tab, which doesn't hurt! Although Michele's parents had to move to California to find work, her grandmother, two sisters and two first cousins all live there. Her aunt and uncle are a few hours drive away. They're a tight-knit family. Whenever my mother passes away, I'm going to join them.

I have a cousin who I'm very fond of. She's six months pregnant with triplets. A week ago she went to the hospital with premature labor. She had already been warned that she would require bed rest during the final trimester, but because of the complications, she's stuck in the hospital on total bed rest (she can't get out of bed at all).

This is her first pregnancy, and she's petite. We're all worried that she'll lose the babies, or worse. She could use some prayers. Her name is Michele. I used to change Michele's diapers when I was a teenager, and hope I can do the same with her kids.

She's almost out of the woods at 24 weeks, so it won't be as long as it sounds. She certainly won't go 40 weeks, so start rejiggering the office pool now. I'm saying somewhere in the 30th week.

Shadows are falling and I'm running out of breath
Keep me in your heart for awhile

If I leave you it doesn't mean I love you any less
Keep me in your heart for awhile

When you get up in the morning and you see that crazy sun
Keep me in your heart for awhile

There's a train leaving nightly called when all is said and done
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Sometimes when you're doing simple things around the house
Maybe you'll think of me and smile

You know I'm tied to you like the buttons on your blouse
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Hold me in your thoughts, take me to your dreams
Touch me as I fall into view
When the winter comes keep the fires lit
And I will be right next to you

Engine driver's headed north to Pleasant Stream
Keep me in your heart for awhile

These wheels keep turning but they're running out of steam
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Keep me in your heart for awhile

I like Mary Guathier's song "Mercy Now." We could all use a little mercy now.

I have read that if every person spends one minute per hour thinking positive thoughts for the world, that transformation would occure.

Let's try to cause our our personal transformation.

My positive thoughts are going out to all of you who need the, (I think that's everyone!)

GREAT idea for a forum thank you.

for psychiccustard
for pyro & her dad
for ryan and his mom
for you, your hubby's mom & family
and, happy birthday!

BillnDollarBaby wrote:
As psychiccustard pointed out today in his journal post, there has been a lot of sadness around here lately. We all have days we where we could use a prayer or some positive vibes sent our way. I thought we could start this forum as a place for all of us to post our requests of this nature and a place where those of us who are prone to pray or meditate or what-have-you could check in and see if anyone needed a little help that day. As I have found out this week the hard way, RPeeps are a very supportive bunch!

So to get started, I know my Hubby and his family could use some good thoughts, as well as Pyro and her Daddy and rgj13 and his Mom. If I forgot anyone, I apologize.
