Yes, but she's softening up a little. Very little. She likes to hang out with the dog in the backyard, so she's still ours. She spends a lot of time in the lilac bushes, listening to us call for her. Junebug is now the 2nd-oldest cat in the house. Junior is the youngest. We started out naming him after Berke Breathed, the cartoonist, but he's sort of Mack, Jr. Plus we think he's going to be really big, so we call him Junior just for laughs.

So last week we had chili for supper and I put the leftovers in some bowls to bring to work. I just took one out of the microwave, gave it a little stir and felt something not-soup in there. I thought it might be frozen because the fridge has been doing that a little so I nuked it again, gave it a stir. Still there. Dug around a little with the spoon and pulled up a human finger half a hot dog. Hoo, boy, that gave me a start. But oh, yeah. We had chili dogs last week.

Homemade chicken noodle soup courtesy of last night's rotisserie chicken dinner, the remains of which I boiled and then cooked down to make some really good stock and pick out the remaining meaty bits.
Must have been a good sized chicken, because it fed four of us and there was enough meat left over (and excess stock) to provide a homemade chicken pot pie for dinner tomorrow night.
