If cream of Tomato soup and Grilled Cheese is the ultimate American comfort food, I may have a close second:

Cream of Tomato soup and hot corned beef on rye with swiss.

Leftovers from last night's Valentines dinner at RT's restaurant.

I had the Crawfish and Lump crab Catahoula with garlic, spring onions and Andouille - cheddar cream roux. Yes, it was as decadent as it sounds, and absolutely delicious reheated today, even though some of the spicy grease from the roux had separated out in the fridge.

I love going to this place, it's exquisite torture. You know anything you order is going to be really good, and it's so hard to try something new when you see all your old favorites still there on the menu, and all of the stuff you haven't tried yet sounds really good as well. Makes me wish I had a time machine so I could spend one day just going there repeatedly and trying everything on the menu.

If you're having trouble seeing normal size font, you can make an adjustment so your computer/phone makes the font bigger for you, but it makes it difficult for us when you change your post to take up so much real estate.

Duly noted nerves of Steely, I've not seen a bit o' real estate scorched up in these here parts....

Junebug is now the 2nd-oldest cat in the house. Junior is the youngest. We started out naming him after Berke Breathed, the cartoonist, but he's sort of Mack, Jr. Plus we think he's going to be really big, so we call him Junior just for laughs.

Oh by the way, we have a new cat! I can never remember what I've filled you in on. We lost Mack, friends came out of the woodwork to find us a replacement cat

So now we have Dinger, the old man (15), Junebug (4?), Wink (3?) and Berke aka Junior, about 5 months old.

Here are Wink and Junior getting to know each other.

Dug around a little with the spoon and pulled up a human finger half a hot dog. Hoo, boy, that gave me a start. But oh, yeah. We had chili dogs last week.

Homemade chicken noodle soup courtesy of last night's rotisserie chicken dinner, the remains of which I boiled and then cooked down to make some really good stock and pick out the remaining meaty bits.

Must have been a good sized chicken, because it fed four of us and there was enough meat left over (and excess stock) to provide a homemade chicken pot pie for dinner tomorrow night.
