I'm Danish, so I have rye bread every day for lunch. You can literally put anything on it, like cold cuts of meat, egg, pate, various smoked fish, etc.  I don’t make the bread myself, since every bakery has it. However, you can make it yourself. It’s filling, healthy and tasty. :)

To make it easier, you can buy whatever you want put on it, instead of making it yourself. Here’s a few more examples:

Yes, the dairy and meat thing.  Oddly, the famous Jewish deli, Katz's in NYC, is not kosher.
