Bill...
To the minute sounds about right. I recall Howard Cosell, in ever somber tones, breaking the news, news that was unbelievable. That began a cascade of phone calls that went on for at least an hour as siblings called, friends were called...

How tragically his life, his gift to all, a man of peace, was taken.

If someone thinks that love and peace is a cliche that must have been left behind in the Sixties, that's his problem. Love and peace are eternal.

I Met the Walrus (approximately 5 minutes long)

Thirty-nine years ago, a 14-year-old named Jerry Levitan managed to talk his way into John Lennon's Toronto hotel room. Impressed by the kid's chutzpah, Lennon obliged him with a five-minute chat that covered war, peace, and the newly arrived Bee Gees.

Last year, Levitan teamed up with filmmaker Josh Raskin to make "I Met the Walrus" - a charming animated film that turns Lennon's thoughts into concrete images. The results are trippy but cogent, and no less interesting than what the Beatle had to say. Lennon himself would have loved it.

Me: John Lennon would've been 68 today, Mom.

Mom: Imagine that.

Me: LOL!!!
She didn't even mean to make that pun, but it was excellent.

My mom and your mom would have gotten along great, I think, Alexandra!

My dear mom loved the Beatles. Maybe she is wishing John a happy 68th in heaven. {#Angel}

I miss both of them, more than I can say. And am so grateful to have had them in my life.

There are places I'll remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more

Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
In my life I love you more
