I'm sure JD and Ramones were played together at several college radio stations in the 80s and I'm sure I did that myself, but I sincerely doubt I would have done it as a deliberate segue pairing...

& you sure as sh*t werent getting any Donna played along with it.... my brother used to make such fun of my Donna love.

But mostly it's Bill reminding us that Ramones, Donna Summer, and Joy Division all were making music history at essentially the same time. Yet you'd never have heard any 2 of them deliberately put together anywhere until today, on RP.

Definitely not on any radio stations in the late '70s, but I had that Donna Summer single back then, so at home or at someone else's house I may have heard something from the first two Ramones albums within an hour of hearing that tune.

Did it make you laugh out loud because of its genre?

Ramones • I Wanna Live was pretty obvious, but curveball into
Donna Summer • I Feel Love made me lol literally, then the segue into
Joy Division • Transmission is why I (we?) listen to RP in the first place.

Awesome afternoon set indeed.

I had the pleasure of catching Conjure One live a couple of years ago.  It was fan-freaking-tastic to hear and see Rhys Fulber create the sonic goodness.  And a number of years ago, I caught Shawn Colvin live.  So to hear these artists airing in the set brings back a lot of happy memories!

From Conjure One's "Endless Dream" into Pink Floyd's "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" — exact same chord!!! Can't tell where one ends and one begins!

The Beatles' "Blackbird" into Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's "Lullaby" - with the EXACT same chords.
