Ebay has lots of RAZRs for sale, and I like the idea of a flip (my 'bar' phone butt-dials sometimes). Anybody have an opinion about the RAZR. Or for that matter any Ebay-available phone?
My husband's had his Razor for 2 years. He likes it. I bought a Motorola Rizr3. I love it. I have it Synced to my car.. My daughter has an LG Neon and my son has a Quickfire now. He just got it for his birthday. My son and daughter both text a lot, so they love their full keyboards. I don't care for the full keyboard., but I don't text much either.

I have heard that they are problematic. I looked into one because I always had very good luck with my other Motorola flip phones, but I was convinced to stay away from the RAZR. I believe there were issues with the screen going out a lot.

The AT&T store I went to (which was a big one) had very, very few options for someone who just wants a simple frickin phone. I didn't want a touch-screen or anything that could pocket dial (which was a big problem on my previous phone). I really just wanted a Motorola flip-type phone, but they don't carry those anymore (or any Motorola phones, for that matter). I went with a Samsung slider-type phone because the sales chick said it was a great phone for someone like me who just wants to makes some calls and send a few text messages. She said to stay away from the LG models because most of their repairs were on LGs. I hate this phone. It's menu is a little convoluted and tough to find things that should be easy. It does not have a QWERTY keyboard. That sucks more than I knew it would. But I literally had two choices because I wanted something simple that I could put in my pocket. Being a Luddite sucks when phone-shopping nowadays.
That being said, my friend went to Wal-Mart (I know, I know) and said they had a large selection of stupid-phones with none of that mail-in rebate garbage that AT&T makes you go through. So...I would take a look at someplace like that before I actually purchased one from the phone store.

Oh, I just meant my previous contract is finished. I'll get another contract when I get the new phone. I would not even mind paying something for the phone if it's worth it, but since I don't need or want any extra features, I don't think I really need to pay for the phone. I like the idea of the rugged Moto 'Tundra', but apparently it's not that terrific, and it's expensive. My puny little Moto 'L2' has even survived the washing machine, so maybe I don't need a specially ruggedized phone like the Tundra.

Any phone recommendations?
You'd be surprised what you can get for free. Well, "free" means two-year contract and probably some blood, but no money is involved. Well, no money except for the 49/month. Well, not 49/month, let's say 65 after the taxes and bogus add-on fees. Well, taxes plus the 30/month data plan. So anyway, you say you're with Evil Empire Phone, which must be AT&T. Don't get the LG Neon (a freebie) — it drops calls all the time and on the other end, it sounds like you're underwater. If you don't do text messages, don't bother with a slide phone either — too many moving parts. How about the Nokia 6350? btw, Evil Empire does have rollover minutes, which added up to a bundle for me after a year (over 3000).
