In the winter of 2005, one Not-a-Fish, beloved darling of the forums (who rarely posts any longer), discovered that Samuel L. Jackson was to star in an action-adventure farce—-so ridiculous in both theme and title—-that she declared she could not WAIT to see it, and then came up with the idea of creating an RP meetup around such nonsense. She started a thread called Snakes On a Plane, that was later retitled to Snakes On a Plane - The Meetup! (Note: If you want to see some hilarious posts, go back to the first few pages of the thread)

In August of 2006, several RPeeps headed up a meetup in Dallas, in which people came from as far away as Florida and Arizona to view the movie together. Simultaneously, some of us in California (when I was still living there ) decided to have a Southern California faction do the same in Santa Monica—a halfway point between San Diego and Santa Barbara. Not to be outdone, the East Coasters jumped on the bandwagon.

It probably went down in RP history as the Silliest Reason For a Meetup....and yet, so much fun was had. The Texans texted and called the Californians, screaming things like, "I have HAD it with these MOTHER F*CKIN SNAKES on this MOTHER F*CKIN PLANE!!!" and laughing hysterically. The Texans purchased several rubber snakes and threw them in the movie theatre. JustJanis brought a gag pop-out snake-in-a-can and scared the jbgeezus out of several gullible Californian meetupers. Or was it Zipper that brought it? Oh well...

Also, early on, there was a cartoon that got posted (can't seem to locate it, but it's around) that looked something like this:



...only it went on to make Samuel L. Jackson say, "...and there ain't a GOT DAMN thing we can do about it."
And thus, the commonly used RP phrase "GOT DAMN" was born.

And there you have it, Mr Bokey. All caught up! (Got yer back, bro)

Look dude, to make up for my obtuseness( actually got called that the other night) I want to trade you Greg Maddux BEFORE the next FBB season (says Mark Fidrych)starts.

Ok- he's gonna be the 3rd pitcher in the Dodgers rotation, if Lowe signs else where, and since he's in the NL West he'll start a bunch of games in the Padres Stadium, where he kicks ass.
